Astaxanthin at 4mg/day may help remedy cataracts and age related macular degeneration, esp. if one is on prednisone RX.  http://articles.mercola.com 8/16/2010

B2 (riboflavin) with vitamin C combine to produce glutathione reductase to abolish the toxicity of solar ultraviolet radiation. 10 mg per day should be sufficient.  Excess B2 may lead to loss of sight!  (Preferred supplementation is a multi B vitamin, as the B's work in concert.)

Vitamin E - Adams, Rex - Miracle Medicine Foods - Parker publishing - Adams reports a number of cases of cataracts disappearing due to intake of vitamin E
Vitamin E - B (UVB) radiation contributes to cataract formation but natural vitamin E lowers this risk. 5/2005 www.lef.org
Satin meds to combat high cholesterol may contribute to the formation of cataracts.  See medication labels.  Cholesterol is needed to maintain eye lens transparency.   The fruit/vegetable colorful carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin, plus vitamins A, C, and E (alpha tocopherol) may help prevent and reverse cataracts. Lutein and zeaxanthin are the only carotenoids found in the eye lens and macula.  They are antioxidants which absorb the near-to-UV blue light potentially damaging to retina and macula.
Carnosine (amino acids abeta-alanine + L-histidine) supplements may inhibit advanced glycation (AGE).
Cataract eye drops containing N-acetyl-carnosine may help reduce lens clouding from cataract formation.  5/2006 www.lef.org

Caffeine (coffee/chocolate) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3621977/ - "Varma and colleagues found that caffeine maintained the transparency of lenses from selenite-treated animals [] and reduced both lens opacity and damage to ion pumps caused by UV-B radiation []."

L-carnosine and N-acetyl-L-carnosine (NAC) "have demonstrated a reduction in opacification of the lens" when applied directly (as eye drops). "However, that the natural agent L-carnosine (β-alanyl-L-histidine) effectively delays cataract development...Carnosine is an endogenous dipeptide synthesized by carnosine synthase in an ATP-dependent reaction that links amino acid substrates histidine and β-alanine. A high concentration is found in skeletal muscle fibers. As such, L-carnosine is also obtained from meat in the diet, although it appears to undergo rapid degradation by serum carnosinase. L-carnosine is also found in neural tissue, with a larger concentration in the olfactory bulb. Its biological role is not known conclusively,..Carnosinase, the enzyme that degrades carnosine into its component amino acids (to be available for body to use), is found in the eye. The presence of carnosinase may result in rapid degradation of carnosine into its component amino acids." 4/2010 - https://www.naturalmedicinejournal.com/journal/2010-04/l-carnosines-effects-cataract-development

L- Carnosine versus N-acetylcarnosine - (NAC eye drops preferable)

Currently, N-acetylcarnosine (NAC), not L-carnosine, eye drops are commercially available. NAC was found to be a prodrug

of L-carnosine within the eye, as it undergoes deacetylation to release carnosine into the aqueous humor.
9

Since carnosine is thought to be rapidly degraded by resident carnosinase in the lens, and NAC appears to be protected from this enzyme, the instillation of NAC was proposed as a means of achieving a more effective delivery of L-carnosine to the lens. Furthermore, NAC is a less hydrophobic molecule, so it may more readily pass through the membrane lipid bilayer of lens cells. While the data on these compounds is certainly not interchangeable, when considering the compounds as an instillation directly into the eye (as eye drops), the molecular effects of L-carnosine can be extrapolated to include that seen with NAC as well, since the latter compound is completely deacetylated in situ to render L-carnosine."

L-carnosine is a natural eye anti-oxidant. http://www.naturalskinrepair.com/l-carnosine.html - vitamin/supplement
"Carnosine is a combination of 2 important amino acids, beta-alanine and L-histidine. It occurs naturally in the human body (mainly in muscle) and can also be found in many animal (muscle). Carnosine is easily broken down into beta-alanine and L-histidine, but the remarkable thing is that these 2 amino acids now work much more efficiently than they would have done if they hadn't combined to form L-Carnosine."
"Carnosine helps to prevent glycosylation [the cross linking of proteins and DNA molecules caused by sugar aldehydes reacting with the amino acids on the protein molecule and creating Advance Glycosylation End-products (AGE's)] and may be beneficial for (reversing) diabetes, cataracts, neuropathy, kidney failure...skin conditions...aging."
"Russians have been using a 'special' kind of carnosine known as N-alpha acetyl-carnosine or NAC."
"Caution: We do not recommend oral dosages larger than 600mg (of carnosine) per day. We are aware of cases of muscle twitching with 1g plus dosages." http://www.antiaging-systems.com/a2z/carnosine.htm
(Always begin with low dosage.)

DMSO drops may help reverse cataracts. - http://www.insightllc.net/f/Cataracts.pdf - Regarding supplements:
"The lens requires high concentrations of vitamin C. Research recommends not less than 1,000 mg. per day.
Glutathione is a small protein (peptide) composed of 3 amino acids glycine, glutamic acid, and cysteine. The lens shows high concentrations of Glutathione. However, as we age, these levels drop off considerably, leaving the lens vulnerable to cataract formation. It is essential for the formation of a healthy lens. Glutathione works very close with vitamin C. Use real all natural vitamin C not the synthetic Ascorbic acid.
Glutathione requires selenium to neutralize free-radicals. When selenium levels are down in the eye, cataract levels are up.  In cataract cases, tetrohydrobiopaterin is low, but since there are no supplements for this a person should take extra folic acid which increases the body’s ability to produce tetrohydrobiopaterin."

Intraperitoneal injections of aqueous garlic extract had a similar effect on cataract formation []. Curcumin, a phenolic compound derived from turmeric, also has anticataract activity, but only when administered prior to sodium selenite []. Tetramethylpyrazine, purified from the Chinese herbal medicine Ligusticum wallichii franchat, reduces the severity of selenite cataract and restores the activity of free-radical scavenging enzymes []. The possibility of antioxidant flavonoid-based therapies for diabetic cataract in particular has been recently reviewed [].
Pumpkin contains high concentrations of the antioxidant beta carotene, the carotenoid that helps fight the effects of cell-damaging free radicals.  2 more carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin, give pumpkin even more cancer-fighting power, and also help prevent eyes from developing cataracts. Don't forget the pumpkin seeds! http://www.chsir.com/News.htm

Zeaxanthin - Within the central macula, zeaxanthin is the dominant component.  In the peripheral retina, lutein predominates. Lutein and zeaxanthin have identical chemical formulas and are isomers, but they are not stereoisomers. The main difference between them is in the location of a double bond in one of the end rings. This difference gives lutein 3 chiral centers whereas zeaxanthin has 2.  Zeaxanthin is a yellow pigment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeaxanthin
A daily dose of 6 mg lutein + zeaxanthin, 500 mg vitamin C, 400 mg vitamin E, 15 mg beta carotene + 80 mg zinc seems to protect macular degeneration or AMD per 3/2/04 Wall St Journal www.wsj.com  aches@wsj.com
Lutein
(from marigold flowers) + zeaxanthin are beneficial for most all eye diseases per 2005 collectors edition of Life Extension. The eye converts lutein  into a compromise structure, meso-zeaxanthin

Scripture

Tobit 11:7-8 NAB 7(The angel) Raphael said to Tobiah before he reached his father, "I am certain that his eyes will be opened.  8Smear the fish gall on them.  This medicine will make the cataracts shrink and peel off from his eyes; then our father will again be able to see the light of day."

Hunter, Charles & Frances - by Dr. Burton J. Dupuy, Jr -
Chapter 14
Eye Healings @ https://gillministries.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Hunter-Handbook-for-Healing.pdf -
"Glaucoma and cataracts...are not necessarily inherited.
Cataracts are due to poor circulation, I believe, more than anything else. We're not really sure what causes it, but we do know that a lack of oxygen supply to the lens in the eye will cause cataracts. Some are spots, some are streaks, some are like dust on the cornea, some are just milky; there are all types. Pray that the spot in the eye will be removed.
Command the spirit of inheritance to come out.
A cataract is not a growth. The lens in the eye where the cataract is formed is shaped like a magnifying lens. It is thick in the middle and thin on the edges. It is composed of layer after layer of skin, similar to an onion. What happens is these layers start drying out in different areas, and this causes a spot. So when the light comes through, when we look into the eye, we see a black spot in there. It is not a growth; it is not cancerous. It is just a change or drying out of the tissue. Pray that the tissue will be restored to normal and the blood supply to the eye will be replenished.
Glaucoma is an increase of pressure in the eye. The fluids in the eye are constantly being replaced and drained out. The canals are slim around the outer area of the iris where the fluids drain out of the eye, and if these canals become clogged, then the drainage slows down and the pressure builds up. It's like blowing air into a balloon. Command the canals to be opened, command the spirit of inheritance to come out, and command the pressure to be relieved and go down to normal, in Jesus' name.

The Letter of Aristeas verses 312-316 in the Pseudepigrapha (written 200 BC) speaks about insanity resulting from violating holy scripture or acting regarding sacred things without explicit consent from God.  God has times and seasons for holy revelations. www.ccel.org/c/charles/otpseudepig/aristeas.htm
"He (King Ptolemy of Egypt) said to Demetrius (President of the king's library),
'How is it that none of the historians or the poets have ever thought it worth their while to allude to such a wonderful achievement?'  He replied, 'Because the law is sacred and of divine origin.  Some of those who formed the intention of dealing with it have been smitten by God and therefore desisted from their purpose.'
He said that he had heard from Theopompus that he had been driven out of his mind for more than 30 days because he intended to insert in his history some of the incidents from the earlier and somewhat unreliable translations of the law.
When he had recovered a little, he besought God to make it clear to him why the misfortune had befallen him.
It was revealed to him in a dream, that from idle curiosity he was wishing to communicate sacred truths to common men, and that if he desisted, he would recover his health.  I have heard, too, from the lips of Theodektes, one of the tragic poets, that when he was about to adapt some of the incidents recorded in the book for one of his plays, he was affected with cataracts in both his eyes.  When he perceived the reason why the misfortune had befallen him, he prayed to God for many days and was afterwards restored."

"A wound to a developing fetus repairs itself without a scar. Further investigation has revealed that the amniotic membrane, the thin membrane that surrounds the fetus in the womb, plays a key role in this phenomenon. The presence of scarring in the cornea may significantly impact visual function. Corneal specialists are now using amniotic membranes (AMT stem cells) to cover damaged corneas, allowing the eye to repair itself with less scarring." + contact lens http://www.wangvisioninstitute.com/amcl.html
