Fire retardants may be toxic to your health & your child's development. http://www.iceh.org/bulletins/LDDIbulletin6-13-07.html#art14  "The successful (California, USA) bill prohibits the use of either chlorinated or brominated fire retardants in domestic furniture or bedding such as mattresses, pillows and comforters. It also revises strict California fire safety standards that now require foam inside cushions and mattresses be flame retardant. Instead, manufacturers would be allowed to leave the foam untreated if a flame resistant barrier surrounds it. Chemicals made with bromine or chlorine have repeatedly proven problematic. Polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, used in industrial transformers were banned in the 1970s after a series of industrial spills highlighted the compound's potent neurotoxicity. Two types of flame retardants, known as polybrominated diphenyl ethers -- or PBDEs -- and common in foam, were withdrawn from the global market earlier this decade after scientists linked PBDEs to developmental effects and a tendency to linger in humans and wildlife."

Mental Screening for Young to Begin for Massachusetts children on Medicaid  12/27/2007 goldberg@globe Boston Globe newspaper  www.boston.com  The bar is very low.  The subjective evidences for mental illness cited in the Boston Globe are those typical behaviors for many children.  Our concern is mandated medication or uninformed parents/school being pressured to subject their children/ students to medical oversight and relinquishment of parental rights. There is a danger of the loss of child/parental consent.  Most freedom of consent paperwork signatures are coerced and done during emergency/crisis.

Glycine is inadvisable if one is taking the antipsychotic drug clozapine per Pure Encapsulations.
www.purecaps.com

Clozapine (Clozaril) may be adversely affected by large amounts of cocoa due to its caffeine content.  Cocoa may exacerbate psychotic symptoms and toxicity of clozapine plus inhibit clozapine metabolism  Related foods are black and green tea, coffee, cola, guarana and mate.  Excess cocoa may also trigger migraines in sensitive people.
The sudden withdrawal of large amounts of cocoa may cause lithium toxicity, due to cocoa's caffeine content.
Oral contraceptives and grapefruit reduce caffeine clearance.  (note=Grapefruit increases med dosage; thus can be good when titrating medication dose down.)
MAOIs with high cocoa intake may trigger a hypertensive crisis due to tyramine content.
Excess cocoa has been known to cause shakiness, increased urination, rapid pulse and constipation.
www.naturaldatabase.com

Clozapine/clozaril can interact with the following herbs/supplements; however this med may be able to be reduced/titrated down with the consistent use of the same - green tea, kava kava, milk thistle, manganese, melatonin, B2 (riboflavin), B6 (pyridoxine), and/or vitamin E.     www.umm.edu/altmed/ConsDrugs/Clozapinecd.html

Clozapine side effects may be reduced by the addition of vitamin supplements NAC (N-acetyl cysteine + Vitamin C), Selenium, and (5-HTP) 5-hydroxytryptophan. Smoking may reduce blood levels of drug, whereas caffeine intake may increase blood drug levels.  Glycine supplementation may increase drug induced side effects. Grapefruit can be awesome or dangerous - depending on you having knowledge.  If you want to lower dosage safely, then add grapefruit.  If you want to prevent toxic drug side effects, then do not eat/drink grapefruit with some meds.  The bottom line is that grapefruit makes some medicines more powerful.  "Individuals have different levels of an enzyme in intestines and liver, called CYP3A4, that breaks down drugs before they even have a chance to get into the blood stream."  Grapefruit compounds furanocoumarins can "obliterate CYP3A4 in the gut.  The result: More drug gets into the bloodstream."  For those with high furanocoumarins, one could have 10X the amount of 1 med/pill in bloodstream. 11/27/2007 www.wsj.org Personal Journal section

Published case studies of negative side effects of ECT (electric shock treatment) for depression - Cached   www.ect.org
Individual case study is an important and necessary method of collecting evidence.  It allows the nature and extent of amnesia, memory disability, and memory loss to be described in detail impossible to obtain in-group studies. Consistency in individual case studies illustrates that ECT’s permanent effects have not changed over the years.

As Empty As Eve, by Berton Roueche; first published in the New Yorker 9/9/1974; reprinted in The Medical Detectives, 1981  “There weren’t just gaps in my memory. There were oceans and oceans of blankness. And yet there seemed to be kind of a pattern. My childhood recollections were as strong as ever. The fog of amnesia increased as I came forward in time. The events of the past several years were the blurriest and the blankest. Another area that didn’t seem to be affected was ingrained habits—repetitive acts and procedures. I mean, I hadn’t lost my command of the English language. I still knew the multiplication tables…But worst of all my problems was that I couldn’t seem to retain. I couldn’t hang on to my relearning. Or only a part of it. The rest kept sliding away again.”   Cached   www.ect.org

Electroconvulsive Therapy and Memory Loss: A Personal Journey, by Anne Donahue; The Journal of ECT, June 2000.
“My long-term memory deficits far exceed anything my doctors anticipated, I was advised about, or that are validated by research. To the contrary, either I am one in a thousand, a complete anomaly, to be able to document memory loss still remaining after 3 years and extending as far back as occurrences eight to nine years ago, or the profession in general, after all these years of treatment with ECT, has still failed to identify and come to terms with the true potential risks.”
Cached   www.ect.org
Anne has pioneered legislature in Vermont where one needs to sign informed-consent paperwork before receiving ECT.
Informed consent includes a more candid video for prospective ECT patients.

Evidence for permanent memory and cognitive impairment is found in the neuropsychological evaluations (standardized batteries of tests for brain damage, taking place over two or more days) obtained by individual survivors at their own expense; many of these are collected in the archives of the Food and Drug Administration, Docket #82P-0316.  Cached   www.ect.org

"
My profession has pandered to the guilt of parents by saying, "We'll relieve you of guilt. We'll tell you your child has a brain disease, and that the problem can be treated by a drug...There's actually a great deal of evidence for a conspiratorial relationship. According to international law, you cannot directly promote a highly addictive Schedule II drug to the public. Ritalin is in Schedule II along with amphetamine, methamphetamine, cocaine and morphine. And you're not allowed to put ads in the newspaper for that. You're not allowed, according to international conventions, to directly promote to the public. What Ciba-Geigy, now a division of Novartis, has done is to fund a parents' group, CHADD, and the group has then gone and promoted Ritalin to the public. So that's one potential aspect to the situation...One of the big differences in what Ciba-Geigy is doing, say, compared to a drug company who might give money for a diabetes drug to the AMA, is that Ritalin is a Schedule II--a highly addictive drug. And there are special controls put upon it by the US government. CHADD, in fact, has lobbied the US government to try to get Ritalin taken out of Schedule II. They couldn't do anything more valuable for the drug company, and more dangerous to the public, than that. Fortunately, they failed, and they failed in part because of our disclosures . . . about CHADD having so much money from the drug companies...Even before Prozac was approved by the FDA, the drug company was sponsoring seminars for doctors throughout the country on the biochemical basis of depression, mentioning over and over again serotonin, which is the neurotransmitter that's affected by Prozac. They didn't happen to mention that there may be 200 neurotransmitters in the brain, and that connecting any one to depression is absolutely foolish speculation. The brain is an integrated organ, with probably thousands of substances participating in its function. To label one, serotonin--which is, in fact, a widespread neurotransmitter that goes to every single lobe of the brain and affects everything from memory to coordination to cardiovascular function--imagine that that one happens to be the one that's out of balance, because Eli Lilly is selling Prozac...Now they run into problems. Because the next drug that comes along affects a different neurotransmitter, and then the next one affects a different neurotransmitter. And they're all working, because they all cause certain disabilities of the brain that some people experience as an improvement. They either can anaesthetize your feelings, or they give you an artificial high, or simply give you an enormous placebo boost."
"
ADHD doesn't even involve emotional suffering on the part of the child. There is nothing in the diagnosis that says the child is distressed. It's all about distressing behaviors. It's a list of behaviors that distress adults." http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/medicatedchild/
Shock Therapy Revisited 10/18/05  www.wsj.com/health  In 1940 psychiatrists recognized that electricity aimed at the brain could cause mood shifts, but also induce seizures and permanent memory loss.  Now often very expensive, invasive brain and chest surgery to produce milder electrical stimulation is being attempted with Deep Brain Stimulation, Magnetic Seizure Therapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, and Vagus Nerve Stimulation (which may cause hemorrhage, stroke, twitching + may require further brain and chest surgery).

VACCINE WARNINGS

Vaccine Truth    http://www.vaccinetruth.org/sv40.htm   www.vaccinetruth.org/excellent_vaccine_articles.htm
A...long-term complication of vaccination involves the 'one cell-one antibody' rule. This means that once a B cell is committed to an antigen (disease-causing virus or bacteria), it becomes inert and incapable of responding to other antigens or attacks on the immune system. If a child contracts childhood diseases naturally, it is estimated that up to a total of 7% of their immune system is taken up with responding to these diseases. However, a child who undergoes the routine course of vaccinations, risks having up to 70% of his/her immune system committed to these antigens and no longer available for other immune challenges... meaning the immune system is always in 'attack' mode - which also weakens it and leads  to auto-immune diseases.

1 -
The international food irradiation symbol is optional, but when it is used, it shall be in close proximity to the name of the food.
2 - When an irradiated product is used as an ingredient in another food, this shall be so declared in the list of ingredients.
3 - When a single ingredient product is prepared from a raw material which has been irradiated, the label of the product shall contain a statement indicating the treatment.
The United States does not require labeling of irradiated ingredients regardless of their proportion in other foods (in the U. S.). Several countries, including Argentina, Canada, Israel and Thailand, require labeling when irradiated ingredients exceed certain proportion in other food ( 5% or 10%, for example). Australia and New Zealand and those belonging to the EU require labeling of every minute proportion of irradiated ingredients (essentially to the last molecule) in other foods.
There is NO proper guidance with regard to irradiated ingredients incorporated in second or third generation processed food (a classical example is irradiated pepper incorporated in sausages which are in turn incorporated into pizza).
There is a clear need to harmonize labeling on imported/exported food containing irradiated ingredients.   http://www.organicconsumers.org/Irrad/cfsirrad.cfm     Scholarly articles for joseph mendelson irradiation

DSM  (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) system was established in 1952.  It puts labels onto patient symptoms enabling the pharmaceutical, insurance, medical and social service industry to bill for services provided.  In 2006 the International Psychoanalytic Association  with the American Psychological Association created The Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual which assigns 1 of 14 personality patterns before electing a DSM label.  In the case of anxiety disorders, it ignores neurotransmitters in favor of Freud's 4 basic danger situations - loss of a significant other, love, body integrity or affirmation by one's own conscience. When varying schools of thought compete to hold exclusive theories, a doctor will win, but a patient will lose.  Each school of thought should contribute to the total well being of the patient, soul, mind, and spirit. President George Bush appointed McHugh to sit on  Presidential Council on Bioethics.
US Conference of Catholic Bishops selected McHugh to be on their National Review Board for elimination of sexual abuse of children by clergy.
Part 4 Treating the Mind as Well as the Brain explains how the DSM-4, of the APA used by insurers for billing, contends that psychiatric problems are  biological.  Rebel revisionists want to add another category called relational disorders, which would be treated mostly by therapy rather than mostly medicine.  [Note.  This 2006 book came out just prior to (or at same time as) revision/update of DSM.]

3/3/04 JAMA editorials (1) Methods to Increase the Percent of Free Fetal DNA Recovered from the Maternal Circulation (2) Cell-Free Fetal DNA in Maternal Blood (3) Microchimerism
Microchimerism refers to a small amount of cells or DNA in an individual that comes from another genetically distinct individual.  Cell traffic between mother & fetus during pregnancy may result in long-term persistence of fetal cells (fetal microchimerism) in the mother and maternal cells in her progeny (maternal microchimerism.)

UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) scientists have discovered that infants who possess a specific immune gene that too closely resembles their mothers' are more likely to develop schizophrenia later in life. Reported in the October 2006 issue of the American Journal of Human Genetics, the study suggests that the genetic match may increase fetal susceptibility to schizophrenia, particularly in females.
HLA-B is one of a family of genes called the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) complex, which helps the immune system distinguish the body's own proteins from those made by foreign invaders, such as viruses and bacteria. The developing fetus inherits one copy of the HLA-B gene from each parent.
"Our findings clearly suggest that schizophrenia risk rises, especially in daughters, when the child's HLA-B gene too closely matches its mother's."

Michael Egan, M.D., Daniel Weinberger, M.D., and colleagues, in the August 24th issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, published online the week of August 9, 2004 that glutamate is a key neurotransmitter long thought to play a role in schizophrenia. The gene identified in this study makes the glutamate receptor (GRM3) which is responsible for regulating glutamate in synapses - spaces in between brain cells - where chemicals like glutamate transfer information from cell to cell. The amount of glutamate remaining in the synapse may have a downstream impact on cognition.  "This study brings us closer to unlocking the genetic clues that increase the risk for schizophrenia," said NIMH Director Thomas R. "THE GENETIC code specifies all the proteins that a cell makes."  THEORIZED = "A second code, superimposed on the first, sets the placement of the nucleosomes, miniature protein spools around which the DNA is looped. The spools both protect and control access to the DNA itself.  The discovery, if confirmed, could open new insights into the higher order control of the genes, like the critical but still mysterious process by which each type of human cell is allowed to activate the genes it needs but cannot access the genes used by other types of cell."

SPIRITUAL

When God through His Son Jesus removed sin, sickness, diseases, physical defects, insanity, He did it through a blood transfusion, replacing our blood with His blood, giving us His blood, His DNA, His health, His salvation, His deliverance.  Recognize this, claim this, receive this when you repent of all your sins and become a member of His family and His blood line.  Ask His Spirit to live in you and to fill you.  He will do it when you ask.  He will do it when you believe.  Do NOT be deterred by old negative thinking.  The persistent turtle wins.

Evidence does not hold up for newly diagnosed schizophrenics.) Candace Pert, pharmacologist, advises that the mind is NOT only in the brain.  It is also in the flow of neurocommunicators of brain, lymph glands, heart, spleen, thymus, bone marrow, spine dorsal horn, stomach and immune system. Emotions are neuropeptides attaching to receptors and stimulating an electrical change on neurons. All biochemical. www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine
The Secret Life of Germs - Observations and Lessons From a Microbe Hunter by Philip M Tierno shares that most all disease is from destructive or inappropriate protein production and that the development of antisense drugs may help solve this problem. When a protein is made, the 2 DNA  stands uncoil.   One is called "sense" and one is called "antisense."  The antisense strand is used as an enzyme template to assemble RNA by transcription. RNA makes amino acid protein by translation. Antisense drugs bind to RNA to prevent specific unwanted protein production.

The inability to filter out irrelevant sounds and other distractions may be part of the reason schizophrenics hear voices and hallucinate.  Tone filtering problems where subsequent/close tones are not made smaller/inhibited by the brain, may contribute to schizophrenia problems. The brain's tone responder is an alpha 7-nicotinic receptor, which responds to both acetylcholine and nicotine (cigarettes).  The Nicotinic receptor is located on chromosome15 near the alpha 7-nicotinic receptor.  The brain may have a defect in this area.

Lord's Resistance Army is a rebel group led by Joseph Kony. With the support of the government of Sudan, the LRA has been terrorizing the predominantly Christian population of northern Uganda for seventeen years, engaging in the most awful atrocities such as the chopping off of hands, lips, noses and ears, as well as rape, kidnap, and murder. Over the years, they have abducted more than 20,000 children for use as child soldiers and sex-slaves. Uganda government soldiers have been largely ineffective against this menace. Kony is reputed to be a spirit medium who traffics with demons for empowerment and direction. SCRIPTURE = old testament Exodus 21:2 NIV "If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you  for 6 years.  In the 7th year he shall go free, without paying anything."...
New testament scripture shows that Jesus sets us free from our enemy Satan and his strongholds of disease, mental illness, and eternal death, the moment we accept Jesus the son, His Holy Spirit and God His Father Who paid the ransom for us 2,000 years ago.

Sometimes Christian counseling is just secular counseling for Christians often by pastors.  This can be a tragedy for a number of reasons.  1- We are regurgitating the negatives each office visit.  2- We are speaking negatively giving the enemy power in our spiritual realm.  Whatever we say positive or negative controls the spiritual realm.  3- We are forgetting that through being born again and water baptism we have become dead with Christ and subsequently alive in Christ.  When we give attention to our negative feelings we have gone back to the future for all intents and purposes or negated our new life in Christ.  If we are dead in the flesh, then we need to practice being dead.  4- Especially after the baptism in the Holy Spirit, we need to listen to the promptings/leadings of the Holy Spirit, Who will direct us with wisdom and knowledge.  It is He who is to be our tutor/mentor/counselor.  5- If any  root issues are demonic roots, then sometimes deliverance is needed.
