SPIRITUAL WARFARE

The Old Testament book of Joshua contains wonderful scripture where we can substitute our own names for whom/what we pray.  For example, instead of quoting  Joshua 6:2 TNAB    2the Lord said, "I have delivered Jericho , we can declare, Joshua 6:2 TNAB    2the Lord said, "I have delivered John!  We would declare aloud that John IS delivered NOW; not only that, but John's provision for deliverance WAS provided 2,000 years ago.  We would praise God.  We would thank God.  We would congratulate God for His wonderful deliverance.  We would rely on what He says in His word.  We would NOT rely on any other reports.  We would not rely on lying symptoms or evidence that contradicts scripture. 
Think back to the time that 2 reports came to Moses from those 12 scouts spying out the Amorite land containing Anakim (giants).  11 reports were fearful, but 1 was courageous.  Only 1 courageous report was in alignment with the Lord's view/intentions.
Deuteronomy 1:1 TNAB     These are the words which Moses spoke.
Deuteronomy 1:19 TNAB     "Then in obedience to the command of the Lord, our God, we set out from Horeb and journeyed through the whole desert, vast and fearful as you have seen, in the direction of the hill country of the Amorites."
Deuteronomy 1:23 TNAB    "I (Moses) chose 12 men from your number, 1 from each tribe (to scout the land)."
Deuteronomy 1:34 TNAB    34"When the Lord heard your (negative/fearful) words, He was angry; 35and He swore, 'Not one man of this evil (unbelieving/grumbling) generation shall look upon the good land I swore to give to your fathers, 36except Caleb, son of Jephunneh; he shall see it.  For to him and to his sons I will give the land he trod upon, because he has followed the Lord unreservedly.'"
Deuteronomy 1:37-40 TNAB  37"The Lord was angered against me (Moses), on your (negative) account and said,  'Not even you (Moses) shall enter there, 38but (instead) your aide Joshua, son of Nun, shall enter (as your successor).  Encourage him, for he is to give Israel its heritage.  39Your little ones, who you said would become booty, and your children, who as yet do not know good from bad, they shall enter; to them I will give it; they shall occupy it.  40But for yourselves, turn about and proceed (back) into the desert on the Red Sea road.'" (Thus only those 2 of that generation with their descendants were allowed to enter.  However, be reminded that the land did NOT fall into their hands as did the manna.  Rather, they had to war with the occupants of the land.  Likewise, today we need to wage war with our spiritual/invisible enemy, Satan and his demons.  Our weapons include praise, commanding, reminding, fasting, angels, rehearsing scripture, etc.)

Judges 6:12-14 NKJV    12The Angel (presence/representative) of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, "The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!"  13Gideon said to Him, "O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?  And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?'  But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites."  14Then the Lord turned to him and said, "Go in this might of yours and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites.  Have I not sent you?"

Psalm 118:10-14,15 NKJV  10In the name of the Lord I will destroy them.  11They surrounded me.  Yes, they surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.  12They surrounded me like bees; they were quenched like a fire of thorns, for in the name of the Lord, I will destroy them.  13You (enemy/demon/Satan) pushed me violently, that I might fall, but the Lord helped me.  14The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation...19I will praise the Lord.  20This is the gate of the Lord, through which the righteous shall enter.

Joel 4:10 TNAB     Let the weak man say, "I am a warrior!"
Joel 4:11 TNAB     Bring down, O Lord, Your warriors!

Since the kings cited below are kings to be captured and exterminated, then a second way to view/ substitute words in scripture is to proclaim that our spiritual enemies to be captured/eliminated.  For instance, we can declare that the Lord has delivered the king/demon/stronghold of fear/terror/lack of insight/depression/etc into oblivion, never to return, in the name of Jesus.

Every terrorist/war attack against a son/daughter of God will explode/backfire in the face of Satan. 
Satan thought he could win when he tricked a 3rd of heaven's angels to abort their heavenly assignments.
Satan though he could exterminate Jesus on the cross.  He thought he could ruin the dreams of Joseph with the coat of many colors, when he tricked Joseph's brothers into selling him into slavery. 
All throughout history Satan's demonic schemes have and will greatly harm God's spiritual enemy. 
We can depend on God's justice, mercy, tenderness, compassion to set His captives free at last.  Those captives will become God's army endowed with His magnificent spiritual power.  Satan makes a HUGE mistake when he tangles with God's kids!  Praise be to the holy name of our marvelous Dad.  Too wonderful.  Too clever.  Too sweet.  Too compassionate.  Too lovely for words.  Thanks, Dad.  Let us dance in His presence, while we await His revelation/mercy/empowerment/glory/wonder to be revealed.

JEWISH FEAST DAYS
PURIM

Purim, celebrated annually approximately 3/3+4, is the celebration of God's one up on Haman, whose intention was to exterminate most of the Jews.  Instead, he got the consequence that he had intended for his rival, Mordecai, uncle of Ester, wife of the king Xerxes.  The history book of Ester can be found in the Old Testament.
Esther 9:22 KJVer    The Jews rested from their enemies; the month which was turned to them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day...of feasting and joy, of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.
Esther 9:27 KJVer    The Jews ordained and took upon them and upon their seed and upon all such as joined themselves to them, as as it should not fail, that they would keep these 2 days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time very year.
Psalm 68:18 KJVer    18You (Messiah) have ascended on high.  You have led captivity captive.
Psalm 68:21-23 KJVer    21God shall wound the head of His enemies and the hairy scalp of such a one as goes on still in his trespasses.  22The Lord said, "I will bring again from Bashan; I will  bring My people again from the depths of the sea, 23that your foot may be dipped in the blood of your enemies and the tongue of your dogs in the same."  (Justice and vengeance + subsequent praise and honor belong solely to the Lord!)
Esther 7:10 KJVer    They hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai.
Esther 9:01 KJVer    In the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over the,
(though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them.)

The story of Ester is one of many spiritual parallels of deliverance in each life and each generation.
Likewise, it is wise to record our own deliverance in a diary and to our family, at the very least.  It is wise to celebrate it at least annually, plus as often as we think of it.  It is like the 4th of July in America, a birthday of freedom from our enemy, Satan.

SCRIPTURE

Nehemiah 8:10 KJV    The joy of the Lord is your strength.

Joshua 1:1-9 TNAB    1After Moses, the servant of the Lord, had died, the Lord said to Moses' aid Joshua, son of Nun, 2"My servant Moses is dead. So prepare to cross the Jordan her, with all the people, into the land I will give (deed permanently to) the Israelites.  3As I promised to Moses, I will deliver to you every place where you set foot.  4Your domain is to be all the land of the Hittites, (south) from the (Sinai) desert,  (north) from Lebanon, east to the great river Euphrates, and west to the Great (Mediterranean) Sea. 5No one can withstand you while you live.  I will be with you as I was with Moses.  I will not leave you nor forsake you.  6Be firm and steadfast, so that you may give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers I would give them.  7Above all, be firm and steadfast, taking care to observe the entire law which My servant Moses enjoined on you.  Do not swerve from it either to the right or to the left, that you may succeed wherever you  go.  8Keep this book of the law on your lips.  RECITE it by day and by night, that you many observe carefully all that is written in it; then you will successfully attain your goal.  9I COMMAND you, 'Be firm and steadfast!  Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go.'"
Joshua 6:2-5 TNAB    2To Joshua the Lord said, "I have delivered Jericho and its king into you power.  3Have all the soldiers circle the city, marching once around it.  Do this for 6 days, 4with the 7 priests carrying ram's horns ahead of the ark.  On the 7thy day march around the city 7 times; have the priests blow the horns.   5When they give a long blast on the ram's horns and you hear that signal, all the people shall shout aloud.  The wall of the city will collapse; they will be able to make a frontal attack."
Joshua 8:1 TNAB    The Lord then said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid or dismayed.  Take all the army with you and prepare to attack Ai.   I have delivered the king of Ai into your power, with his people, city and land."
Joshua 12:1,6 TNAB    1The kings of the land east of the Jordan, from the River Arnon to Mount Hermon, including all the eastern section of the Arabah, whom the Israelites conquered and whose lands they occupied, were...
6After Moses, the servant of the Lord, and the Israelites conquered the, he assigned their land to the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh, as their property.
Joshua 12:7-9,24 TNAB    7This is a list of the kings whom Joshua and the Israelites conquered west of the Jordan and whose land, from Baal-gad in the Lebanon valley to Mount Halak which rises toward Seir, Joshua apportioned to the tries of Israel.  8It included the mountain regions and foothills, the Aragah, the slopes, desert, Negeb, belonging to the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.  9They were the kings of Jericho..24 31 kings in all.
Joshua 13:1-7 TNAB    1When Joshua was old and advanced in years, the Lord said to him, "Though now you are old and advanced in years, a very large part of the land still remains to be conquered.  2This additional land includes all Geshur and all the districts of the Philistines 3(from the stream adjoining Egypt to the boundary of Ekron in the north is reckoned Canaanite territory, though held by the 5 lords of the Philistines in Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron); also where the Avvim are in the south; 4all the land of the Canaanites from Mearah of the Sidonians to Aphek, and the boundaries of the Amorites; 5and the Gebalite territory; and all the Lebanon on the east, from Baal-gad at the foot of Mount Hermon to Labo in the land of Hamath.  6At the advance of the Israelites I will drive out all the Sidonian inhabitants of the mountain regions between Lebanon and Misrephoth-maim; at least include these areas in the division of the Israelite heritage, just as I have commanded you.  7Now, therefore apportion among the 9 tribes and the half-tribe of Manesseh the land which is to be their (everlasting) heritage."
Joshua 18:1-3 TNAB    1After they had subdued the land, the whole community of the Israelites assembled at Shiloh, where they set up the meeting tent.  2Seven tribes among the Israelites had not yet received their heritage.  3Joshua therefore said to all Israelites, "How much longer will you put off taking steps to possess the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?"

1st Samuel 17:45-47 NIV    45David said to the Philistine, "(Enemy) You come against me with sword, spear, and javelin(intimidation and worldly weapons + lies and deceit), but I come against you (enemy) in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 
(I also come against you enemy in the name of Jesus Christ on behalf of __ both of whom you have defiled.  I plead His blood shed on Calvary.  I place His blood between us and you.  I surround each of us with the precious blood of Christ Jesus.)
46This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head.  Today...the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.  47All...will know that...the  Lord saves;  for the battle is the Lord's, and He will give all of you into our hands."

2nd Chronicles 20:21-22 NIV    As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men...and they were defeated.

Psalm 18:29,33-34,37-39,42,50 KJV    29By You I have run through a troop; by my God I have leapt over a wall...33He makes my feet like hind's feet and sets me upon my high places.  34He teaches my hands to war, so that a bow of steel (bronze) is broken by my arms...37I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; neither did I turn again until they were consumed.  38I have wounded them that they were not able to rise; they are fallen under my feet.  39ForYou have girded (equipped/armed) me with strength to the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me...42Then did did I beat them small as the dust before the wind;  I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets...
50Great deliverance He gives to His king and shows mercy to His anointed, to David and to his seed (descendants) forevermore.
Psalm 149:3,7-8 KJV    3Let them praise His name in the dance; let them sing praises unto Him with the tumbrel and harp...7To execute vengeance upon the heathen and punishments upon the people; 8to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron.

Romans 6:13 KJV    Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin; but
yield yourselves unto God, as those who are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Romans 16:20 The God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.  Amen. 

2nd Corinthians 10:3-4 KJV   Even though we walk in the flesh we do NOT war in the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down (voiding/nullifying/demolishing of invisible/demonic/spiritual) strongholds.

Ephesians 6:10-18 TNAB 10.Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and His mighty power.  11.Put on (clothe yourself with) the armor of God so that you may be ale to stand firm against (resist/reject/refuse/repel/ignore) the tactics (wiles/strategies) of the devil.  12.Our battle (wrestling/warfare) is not against human forces, but against the (demonic divisions such as:) principalities (rulers), powers, rulers of this world of darkness (fallen angels &/or humans manipulated by Satan - such as Hitler), and the evil (demon) spirits in (2nd heaven) regions above.  13.You must put on the armor of God  if you are to resist on the evil day; do all that your duty requires, and hold (stand) your ground (Do not relapse/backslide/yield/relinquish when you have completely achieved all things). 
14.Stand fast, with the truth as the belt around your waist
(The Holy Spirit is our deposit/guarantee implanted in our human spirit, located in the center of our being/spiritual belly.),
(Stand fast, with) justice (Jesus' righteousness) as your breastplate (Plant the Word of God into your spiritual heart/soul/mind.),
15.and (stand fast, with) zeal (sandals/shoes/obedient action) to propagate the gospel of peace as your footgear. 
16.In all circumstances hold (unwavering) faith (that is not double-minded) up before you as your shield;
it will extinguish the fiery darts of the evil one. 
17.Take the helmet of salvation (scripture memorization/mind of Christ/be born again)
and the sword (mouth) of the Spirit, the (spoken) Word of God. 
18.At every opportunity pray in the Spirit (tongues).
[The Written and Revealed Word of God goes from the mind of God into our mind and from His Spirit into our human spirit
 and is welded via the mouth, hands and feet,

As the Spirit Wills  "Until he had the operation of the Spirit (was operating in the Spirit's anointing), Paul was just as helpless as an other person to deal with the situation."
"The Lord said, 'There are 4 divisions: (1) principalities, (2) powers, (3) rulers of the darkness of this world, (4) wicked spirits in high places or in the heavenlies.  The highest spirits with which you have to deal are the rulers of the darkness of this world.'"  Ephesians 6:12 We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness (wicked spirits) in high places.  Colossians 2:15 reminds us that Christ "spoiled principalities and powers" making an open show of them in triumph.  Jesus also cited 2nd Corinthians 6:14 admonishing Christians not to wed nonbelievers.
Rulers of the Unsaved  "The highest types of demons...rulers of the darkness of this world - rule all unsaved people...and dominate them.  That is why people do and say things they don't intend to."
"It is always one of the rulers of the darkness of this world that possesses a person...They also tell the powers what to do.  Then the powers rule over the principalities and tell them what to do.  The lowest type of demons have very little to do.  They do very little thinking of their own and are told what to do."
There is an unforgivable sin.  It is when a born-again Holy Spirit baptized Christian deliberately rejects Jesus. 
In addition to scripture (Hebrews 6:4-6 + Hebrews 10:26-29) Jesus clarifies this, "For one to commit 'a sin unto death,' he would need to have all 5 of these experiences: (1) Be enlightened (or convicted) to see his lost state, and to know that there is no way for him to be saved except through Jesus Christ. (2) Taste of the Heavenly Gift, which is Jesus.  (3) Become a partaker of the Holy Spirit or be filled with the Holy Spirit.  (4) Grow enough out of the babyhood state to have tasted the good Word of God.  (5) Have the powers of the world to come - the gifts of the Spirit - operating in his life."  [Certainly Judas could be an example, except that he did not have the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  King Saul had the Holy Spirit (removed from his life) but did not know his Messiah.]
Forgiveness for Adultery  "Adultery is not the unpardonable sin."
Hagin saw in a vision a non Christian man entertaining "the thoughts Satan gave him" and "saw this evil spirit go into the man's mind.  Jesus said, 'This evil spirit is one of the higher rulers of their world.  They are the ones that get ahold of a man and eventually possess him.  There are degrees of possession, and these spirits will bring other evil spirits with them'..."In the vision, the evil spirit got ahold of the man and seemed to open his head like a trap door.  Then I saw other spirits come and enter the man.  Jesus said to me, 'From now on when you come into the presence of anyone who is fully possessed with the devil, he will recognize you, just as the man...in Mark 5 recognized Me when he came into My Presence...These spirits will know (recognize) you (the Holy Spirit in you)...Through the gift of discerning of spirits you will know what kind of spirit IT is (that opened the door to the others)'...Jesus said, "To cast them (all/the others) out, you sometimes have to know not only the kind of spirit they are but also their name (and/)or number.'"

III Methods for Disarming the Strong Man  1 Researching the Past  "In personal deliverance it is important to know what has happened to that individual from conception forward...Discover the doors of opportunity which have been opened to the devil.  The approach is the same for discovering the ruler spirits over the geo-political areas.  Who were the first settlers?"
2 Repenting of All Sins  "There is NO deliverance without repentance from ALL sins...Where there is no repentance the devil is empowered to oppress:  therefore, repentance is necessary at every level of spiritual warfare...As long as sins remain unconfessed, the devil has a legal right to continue his work."
3 Forgiving All Others  "Matthew 18:23-35...The one who does not forgive is turned over to the tormentors until he does forgive.
4 Recognizing God's Purpose  "Each person is important to God  The Lord has a unique purpose for each...The same is true for nations and cities.  What obstacles has the devil concocted to prevent or hinder God's purposes?"  President Bush said, "Tear down this wall."  Likewise we need to tear down the walls/hindrances/obstructions to God's blessings.
5 Ministering with Compassion  "Nehemiah 'wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted and prayed' over Jerusalem...Jesus wept over Jerusalem."
6 Praying with All Prayer  "Prayer is directed towards God, while spiritual warfare is directed towards the devil...When Daniel prayed, God sent angel to fight with the territorial spirits over Persia."
7 Speaking to the Mountain  "A spiritual mountain is that which stands between us and the blessings of God...One must SPEAK to an evil spirit with God-given authority...Dealing with territorial spirits we must command these unseen powers in the heavenlies in the Name of Jesus...One  simply speaks to the principalities and powers in the authority of Jesus' Name...Not yelling at the devil."
IV Deliverance and Territorial Spirits  "When our warfare affects one part of his ranks it simultaneously affects the other... When the  disciples cast demons out of individuals, the powers of evil in the heavens were shaken, indicating the defeat of Satan...Binding the strong man affects the spirits under his command; casting out demons from individuals affects the power and position of the strong man's rule.
VI Who Has Authority to Pull Down Strongholds?  "All authority in heaven and earth rests in the hands of Jesus, our Commander in Chief...We are to go in His (delegated) authority."
VII Who Should Lead the Warfare?  "Those who have spiritual jurisdiction should lead in the warfare for their own territory."
VIII Pulling Down Strongholds vs.Binding and Loosing  "Binding and loosing are 'the keys of the kingdom of heaven' Matthew 16:19.  They are the keys of authority...The enemy is immobilized.  One who is bound is unable to move and carry out his plans.  Binding is the first stage of spiritual warfare...Matthew 12:29."
IX How Long Does It Take?  "There are many victories to be won over the devil before ultimate victory is achieved...The devil has put pressure on God's people, but now the saints are putting pressure on him, ad we must MAINTAIN that pressure until he is immobilized - bound...When he is bound you will see the results AND you will get a witness in your spirit."

DVD #3 is marvelous!  It reveals that there is a parallel underworld comparable to both the heavenlies and the earthly.  There is sort of a carbon copy of the worldly - below and above.  However, if the heavenly is the real/original, then the other 2 are copies.  One gets the message.  Regardless, since most battles are spiritual, rather than worldly, our spirit may need to unite with the Holy Spirit and to descend into hell, as Christ did (after dying but before rising from the dead.) There in a place called captivity, from which He released captives into heaven - those who accepted Him as Messiah. In hell we rescue the broken pieces of the heart/mind/soul and release them into the heavenlies to be ministered to by God.  If instructed to do so, in hell and on earth, we minister life both spiritually and physically to weakened individuals.  We need not go into hell in spirit, unless instructed to do so, but we do need to say aloud this prayer for each prisoner of Satan,
"I am calling your soul out of captivity.  Come forth in the name of Jesus Christ.  I call ____________'s soul to be established in the heavenlies with You, Father God.  ___________ right now today ____________ your soul is set free from captivity and established in heaven, thanks be to God."  Mark this day on your calendar as a memento to God.

I do not know whether what Adam Clarke supposes is correct, that in the garden Christ did pay more of the price than he did even on the cross; but I am quite convinced that they are very foolish who get to such refinement that they think the atonement was made on the cross, and nowhere else at all. We believe that it was made in the garden as well as on the cross; and it strikes me that in the garden one part of Christ’s work was finished, wholly finished, and that was his conflict with Satan. I conceive that Christ had now rather to bear the absence of his Father’s presence and the revilings of the people and the sons of men, than the temptations of the devil. Likewise, we all have decisions to make, to follow God 100% according to our revelation, or to quit, or to compromise.  Let us be reminded by Spurgeon to test all thoughts/arguments/choices/decisions against the Word of God.  Apparently Spurgeon had bouts of depression and had to instruct himself and others to continually filter/reject all thoughts contrary to Scripture.

COMMENTARY ON SILENCE

Jesus, for one, did NOT defend Himself during his arraignment before He was crucified.  Scripture also says for us not to worry what to say when arrested, that the Holy Spirit will give us the words to say.  Remember, we are defending the name/reputation of God and His son and not ourselves, for most intents and purposes.  It is His character not ours that is at stake.  If we take care of Him or His business, then God will take care of us.  Do not be alarmed at physical abuse.  Jesus took it, as well as His disciples.  Scripture says to rejoice for any sufferings endured for His name.  Keep everything in perspective.  It is the invisible enemy and not humans who need to be kept under His feet.  Scripture says to pray for our human enemies.  After all, Christ died for them, too.

COMMENTARY on the MOUTH

The MOUTH seems to be significant in SPIRITUAL WARFARE.  It was with the mouth that Adam and Eve sinned by eating the forbidden fruit.  It was with fasting that the disciples were told by Jesus that with prayer they could cast out demons refusing to go.
It is by speech that we bind and cast out evil spirits.  It is by speech that we plead the blood and stand on/claim the Word of God.  It is with the mouth that Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss.  It was with the mouth that God created the earth by speaking it into existence. 

BOOT  CAMP

Any of us who do not join the military reserves and do at least some role playing, will NEVER be equipped for battle.
Our muscles will NOT function.  We will be back seat drivers without any competence.  Let us begin to push ourselves a little harder each day to be ready when He says, "Now is the time I need qualified people to minister revival in the end time glory."  Let us each day/week/month/year fast, pray, praise, sing, pray in tongues, worship, tithe, help the helpless - just a wee bit more.  Let us accelerate our leaning into Him, so that we will go on chariot rides and do mighty feats, as He so directs us.  HELP Lord.  Mentor us.
Let us NOT concentrate on the problem nor the enemy but on our deliverer our hero our savior our Lord our God.  That is the key to being safe (saved/rescued), even in the midst of bombs falling above us!  Let us like Peter in prison, sing and worship and concentrate on Him.

DECLARATIONS

In Jesus name, we declare that each demonic thought, intention, sting, attack, or warfare will end in the demon's permanent death/impotency/inability to harm another, (as it is with a stinging bee who loses its stinger and life after it stings).
In Jesus name, we declare that each demonic assault will empower the one stung to become like a queen bee, full of dominance and power - by the Holy Spirit, just the opposite intended by the enemy.
