We Can HEAL in Jesus' Name

Awesome. Imagine that! God will permit me, a nobody, to heal MYSELF & to heal OTHERS. Mind blowing. The Bible doesn't tell us to pray for Jesus/God to heal, but for us to heal (in Jesus name) as He already did His work.
His work is finished...But, don't say, "I can heal." Rather say, "God can heal - (through me, through you, through us)."
Always, always, always give God the glory. Never try to steal God's glory, like Satan tried to do & still tries to do.
An employee never can/should steal the glory due his employer. Likewise, we will not be trustworthy if we try to steal HIS glory. Not one crumb. That is where Lucifer/Satan make his big monster mistake. Beware...
Charles Ndifon www.christlove.org teaches, as do many Christians, that God's Holy Spirit is alive living inside you & me using our flesh: hands/feet/brain to do His work: healing/wonders/deliverance.
Oral Roberts reminds us that it was NECESSARY for Jesus to depart so that God's Holy Spirit could come & indwell each human (a) by professing out loud that Jesus is the Son of God & (b) by asking God to spiritually baptize us.

explains that salvation is triune: salvation of the spirit, salvation of the soul or mind + salvation of the body.
We are to have the Holy Spirit, the mind of Christ + bodies that are always disease free.
Lake encourages us to say, " In the name of Jesus Christ, I refuse to have this illness."
In the name of Jesus, I refuse to have this cancer. In the name of Jesus, I refuse to have this cold.
In the name of Jesus, I refuse to have this mental illness.

The baptism in the Holy Spirit helps us to obtain our goal. Wigglesworth, in Warner & Lee's The Essential Smith Wigglesworth, admonishes, "To be baptized in the Holy Ghost is to be in God's plan."

If you are not sure you have received God's baptism in the Holy Spirit then pray out loud:
I thank You for Your Holy Spirit power that raised Jesus from the dead .
I now ask You to baptize me with Your Holy Spirit so that I might be empowered to do Your work on earth for Your glory & Your praise.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, I pray. Amen
I believe You have done this according to your Word in the Bible & not on my feelings.

COMMENTARY - Jesus says (according to scripture in Mark 11:24) that when we pray, if we believe,
then we shall receive, so let us believe, never doubting, until in time we will do receive the full healing of our hearts desire. Let us be reminded that our healing was obtained for us on the cross of Jesus 2000 years age.
It along with our salvation is in the atonement, ours for the taking, if only we believe. Believe.
The majority of us are like Peter, the apprentice of Jesus. Peter had the initial faith to step out of his boat & walk a few feet on top of the lake towards Jesus, but when he took his eyes off Jesus & onto the problems at hand, he sunk into the water & needed to be rescued.   He was definitely in over his head. That was BEFORE he had the baptism of the Holy Spirit & BEFORE he took Jesus at His word without : looking back, being double minded, & relying on himself rather than relying on the power of God's spoken word. God does not fail.
It is our trust that fails. We humans have the bad habit of relying on our circumstances, on what we see, on what we experience, on what the doctor tells us, rather than relying on what God tells us in Scripture.
For many this is a deadly habit, where we go into the hospital & never come out. During the cold war between Democracy & Communism there was a saying, "I'd rather be dead than red (under communist control)."
Well, we already have 1 foot in an early grave, when we speak death. God created the world by speaking.
He continues to perform His word now, but only as we speak it, having 1st a clean conscience washed white by repenting of all sins & all omissions, + having a heart that pants after God.
We are never good enough, but God likes that, because then He can fill up our empty selves with Himself...
James Manning of Atlah World Ministries says that the disciples of Jesus did not need to wake Jesus up to quell the storm on the lake rocking their boat. They already had God's authority to speak to the storm themselves.
2nd, Manning says that Moses and many Jews of his generation did not reach the promised land because they did not believe & receive what God had already obtained for them. Well, such principles are foundational to obtaining what we have not yet obtained. Only there is a major flaw. They had God. They had Jesus. They did not have the Holy Spirit.
They did not have Pentecost. They were not anointed and commissioned   Let me explain.
The Disciples in the boat on the lake had not yet had the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which Jesus gave to empower them in His physical absence. Holy Spirit is the 1 Who gives courage & the 1 Who makes things happen. We are impotent without God's Holy Spirit. 2nd, Moses had sinned 2 God forbade him to step onto the soil which he was allowed to see at a distance.
King David wanted to build a temple for God, but only his son Solomon was allowed to do this.
David was the apple of God's eye, yet sin some-times has its consequences. Unbelief is always sin.
God always looks at our heart, more-so than at our deeds. Daily confession
+ communion contribute to our spiritual health in the same way that daily vitamins & exercise contribute to physical health...
It is not God's responsibility to heal (from up high in heaven); rather it is our responsibility to lay hands on the sick to allow God's power to flow out to heal. We are God's hands. We are God's feet. God already healed us 2000 years ago, before we were born. Once we are God's children plus Christ's mate & sibling, we have legal access to the power of the Holy Spirit, with signs & wonders following. God wants ALL his sons & daughters to walk in His power. He wants ALL His sons and daughters to be clones of Jesus Christ, by means of the Holy Spirit. The 12 disciples & Paul are the best illustration of that.
They did what Jesus did on earth. Once we belong to the family of God, we are EXPECTED to act like children of God.
It is not God who needs to DO some-thing.
It is we who need to DO something. If something is NOT getting done on earth, it is not God's fault; rather, it is our fault.
If we have a disabled, hospitalized relative, it is NOT God's problem; it is our problem.
We have failed to avail ourselves of His power to act. The 12 disciples waited to obtain the baptism of the Holy Spirit...
Then they acted. They did not hound the rabbi to lay hands on the ill. They did not hound doctor Luke to cure the ill.
No, they took upon themselves the power & authority of God's Holy Spirit & did the work themselves.
Beware, it was not their power, nor their authority. It always is God's power & authority in us, by the means
of the Holy Spirit dwelling inside us. Mind of ours, wake up. We have had bad teaching. We have bad habits.
Let us wean ourselves off depending on others, wining, & pleading to God. God is WAITING on US to act.
We have been taught incorrectly...
We have been impotent. We have sinned. Let us go to the bank & write that check for our healing.
God's money has been earning interest for 2000 years. That money of course is symbolism for God's gifts to us, including healing, health, sanity, peace, joy, wisdom, and love. We are engaged to the Prince of the entire universe.
Our wealth in Him is more, more, more than we could ever desire. No, we are never able, but God in us is always able.
All the medical operations in the universe have been paid for by the body and blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, many, many, many years ago. In the 3rd heaven there are shelves & shelves of brand new body parts.
Let us avail ourselves of this treasure. Whatever is released in heaven is then released on earth.
Let us lay claim to our inheritance provided for us by the work of Christ 2000 years ago...
What if we fail to heal? Perhaps others need a spiritual tune up, but most likely it is we who need the spiritual tune up.
Some healings take time, like medicine takes time, 30 or more pills to a bottle. Usually, but not always, God requires an assistant, meaning he wants us rather than Him to do the work. If a healing does not "take" it may be for numerous reasons, including, it is not received. God handed us healing 2,000 years ago, but there are very few takers. Beware.
Asking is NOT receiving. If we ask our dad for a hand-out, but we fail to take the gift out of his hand, then who is at fault?
We need to learn to receive. If we pray or intercede for someone needing healing, he may not be healed if he fails to believe...
If the power source is turned on, it is of no use if the plug is not plugged in.
The recipient needs to plug himself into the power source (God) in order to receive.
Praying over someone. Being prayed over. Neither is sufficient. If God's power is available and comes down like rain into the reservoir or water tank, the sick person needs to receive, to turn on that faucet & drink that water.
Even if the intercessor is full of Holy Spirit power, it seldom does much good without the connection being turned on by the end user. Batteries have a + & a - charge. Both + & - ends need to be connected for the flow of electricity.
1st the recipient needs to be taught/reminded of what God has already done for them. We need to appropriate.
We need to STOP begging & to begin THANKING. We need to get rid of our orphan, invalid mentality.
Let us stop our stinking any thinking which offends God & those around us...
Remember. We may be God's instrument with all the right words, to the right person, but at the wrong time.
It takes the Holy Spirit to open up the spirit, even if the mind is open.
It takes much prayer/fasting/spiritual warfare to accomplish what God wants. Many a pastor cannot heal.
Most have head knowledge, but not heart knowledge. Keep chasing God until He catches you...
Another cause for failure to obtain a healing is that we/another may not need healing, but rather deliverance.
There may be a spiritual block; we/they may need to forgive someone.
Be reminded; victors are those victims who do not quit, especially those who do not give up on God, do not quit expecting blessings, & do expect God to honor His word.
Regarding our own personal healings or our personal ministry, we need to repent of any pride, where we would covet or steal from God His glory & congratulations... What if I do NOT have the gift of healing? No problem.
We do have the Healer. He and not us does the healing. Always. We always have Him. Maybe we do not have "the gift of healing". Maybe we do not have "the anointing to heal". Nonetheless, we always have the Healer, Jesus Christ. Sometimes God lays a burden on us, say for blindness. 1 missionary Heidi Baker www.irismin.org prayed an entire year for all the blind people she saw. Nobody got healed. Then all of a sudden the blind began to see... God wants obedience & trust, in Him.
He wants to make sure we do not get cocky/proud/arrogant/ self-sufficient. Let us not get discouraged and then quit, thinking that He has passed us by. A most serious problem/block to one's healing ministry is always us/me/myself/I.
It is our goal to allow God to perfect & use us. Wrong. We want to become/develop into being sufficient/adequate to the task. Wrong again.
When we come to the end of our rope, God is tied to the other end. It is He and not we. He fills up an empty/insufficient pot. We do not need to be sufficient. We do need to be available. We do need to be empty of self.
Otherwise we would covet His praise & glory. We would be too needy trying to be adequate.
When we become a zero, then He can begin to be a hero. We can never become sufficient enough to obtain or to impart salvation or healing or deliverance. Jesus did it all on the cross - 2,000 years ago.
Fear, blame, inadequacy, shame and other deterrents will always intimidate us when we rely on self to heal, or self to obey His commission. However, when we want Him to get ALL the fame & we look at WHO is doing the healing, certainly NOT us, then we can better obey. Of course we will fail, when we rely on self...
Additionally, we cannot operate on empty. We need to be full of Holy Spirit oil. We, like a car, cannot run on empty.
We need to gas up each day with Him. Like Moses' manna in the desert, Holy Spirit oil needs to be fresh squeezed each day. Intimacy with the Trinity fills us up. Consider how a mate fills us up & leaves us glowing with contentment.
So too, Moses glowed after fellowshipping with the Lord. Exodus 34:29
We can be His fireflies, reflecting HIS glory! Let us not be on empty when the Lord needs to use us or when He comes to take His bride at the end of time. Matthew 25. How many loved ones have suffered & died because we do not reflect enough of His glory, because we do not have enough of His oil, because there is too much of self & too little of Him, & because there is not enough daily intimacy with Him?
Additionally let us not rejoice when we heal, nor be discouraged when we are rejected. Healing is NOT about us, but about God, about Jesus, about the Holy Spirit. Healing is Their work, problem, responsibility & Glory.

John G Lake says that our blank check is not worth 10 cents, unless we believe God, but if we believe God & fill in that check, then our healing will come to pass though the power of Jesus Christ on the earth today.

COMMENTARY - Lake reminds us that Christ ministered through His body & now we are His hands & feet; we are priests unto God for the healing of mankind in our generation. Each person on earth has the potential of being filled up with the Spirit of God for the purpose of healing. Even if we are not yet mature enough to administer Christ's healing, each of us is mature enough to believe for ourselves or for others to receive God's healing. All it takes is enough faith to fill a seed.
Jesus says in Matthew 17:20, " If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, say to this mountain, ' Move to yonder place' & it shall move. Nothing shall be impossible to you."
Again in Like 17:6 Jesus says, "If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you would say to this sycamore tree, 'Be plucked up the the root, & be planted in the sea.'; and it would obey you." Each generation has this opportunity & this challenge. Jesus Christ is special, but so are we, because God wants many sons & daughters to be filled with His Holy Spirit & to operate in the same power that Jesus demonstrated. Are you willing to allow God to use you the same way He used Christ?
Jesus says in John 14-15. "He that believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; & greater works than these shall he do; because I go to My Father.
Whatsoever you shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, keep My commandments."
In John 15:5-7 Jesus says, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in Me and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing...If you abide in Me & My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will & it shall be done." In John 16: 23-24 Jesus says, "Verily, verily, I say to you, whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He will give it to you.   Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, & you shall receive, that your joy may be made full." In Mark16:17-18 Jesus says, "These signs shall follow them that believe; in My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents & if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, & they shall recover"...
John G Lake says that most people are waiting on God to act, but in reality God is waiting on us to act, because as Holy Spirit filled people we have God's resources to act on God's behalf. Lake uses the illustration of Moses.
Moses prayed to God to rescue him at the Red Sea. God responded & told Moses to act.
Moses obeyed & the Red Sea opened. Moses' mouth. God's power...
Lake tells a story of a most holy man & his likewise holy children. The dad became violently ill & bedridden & nothing worked, including medicine or prayer. Lake prayed for this gentleman for 16 straight hours without result.
Finally the Holy Spirit reminded Lake of the scripture "Himself took our infirmities".
Lake grabbed hold of the feet of that elderly man & the Holy Spirit raised that senior citizen from his deathbed.
Never, never quit. We need to get over the fast food quick fix mentality. However, you need 2-3 gathered together, agreeing in prayer, believing. Both the gentlemen + his children "believed" with Lake for God to act.
Note that Lake grabbed hold of the feet. Lake touched the man. Often God uses His touch to transmit His healing power. God used His Holy Spirit in Jesus to touch human beings. Often untouched children or animals will die, whereas touched & loved children/animals will survive in the same circumstances...
Warner & Lee in the Essential Smith Wigglesworth share a story of touch.
During preaching, Wigglesworth fell off the stage & into the isle, landing on his feet & stabilizing himself on the shoulder of a man in the congregation, who announced that he was healed at the moment Wigglesworth touched him.
As human beings we need to be touched spiritually, physically, intellectually & emotionally.
Mental illness & many incurable diseases create isolation, so it is extra extra important to join a church & to fellowship with other believers, where you can pray & mature in character together. No man is an island unto himself.
We are God's hands, feet, eyes, mouth, ears, etc. Together we make up the body of Christ.
It is not us, but the Holy Spirit who is the breath of God. We need each other. We need God.
Then God can use us as a team, the same way one would operate a ball game, as a team.
We will be safe, loved & also useful. That is definitely a miracle for those who are mentally ill in this generation...
Did God heal Jesus the crucified one? Yes He did, but not when His disciples wanted or expected.
God the Father performed a miracle, after the fact, after He was dead, but nonetheless, Jesus was healed, but in God's time. God allowed Jesus to suffer, to be taken advantage of, to be abused, to feel abandonment.
Was God a good Father to Jesus? Yes He was. God is always fair & just, only it often takes hindsight to understand God's pruning & fertilizing of our character. If we allow evil in our lives due to ignorance & deception, due to inheritance, or due to God's permission as was the case with Job in the old testament, then let us confess our sins & shortcomings to God & wait for Him to rescue & restore us.
While we are waiting let us do 1 good thing each day to another who is hurting. Each day let us say thank you to God for little things like seeing a sunset, hearing the birds, walking without assistance, $ smelling flowers

Reinhard Bonnke in Evangelism by Fire reiterates that God is waiting on us to act. God did his act 2,000 years ago through His son Jesus Christ, our example. When we become sons and daughters of God, He equips us with His Holy Spirit, the same way He equipped Moses, Enoch, Elijah, and the apostles. Elijah gave his magic mantle to Elisha.
Jesus gave His mantle to His apostles. In 1961 George Jeffreys gave his mantle to Bonnke.
The same Holy Spirit is now our inheritance, once we are baptized by Jesus Christ, himself...
Christians, the tomb is empty. The corpse is alive in well on His throne in heaven.
The only one that is still dead is the modern day, impotent, head in the sand, church.
Wake up, Dry Bones; revive & rescue our mentally ill loved ones. Mentally ill, this illness is NOT God's wish for you.

What awesome implications this has for us who take God as our father, Jesus as our savior & the Holy Spirit as our performer of the Word of God on earth. Let us believe and speak aloud only positive words.
Let us zip our lips to negative thoughts & put them under the blood & feet of Jesus.
Genesis 32:28 KJV - "As a prince have you power with God & with men, & have prevailed."

Rutz, James - Mega Shift - www.megashift.org - admonishes us to use it or lose it. That would apply to our arm or brain muscles, as well as our spiritual muscles. If we have all spiritual knowledge, but are waiting on God to show up, then we have missed the boat. God is waiting on us to walk on water, so that He can rescue us.
If we have received all the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but never use them, then we have no fruit. It is the fruit that counts in heaven, not the gifts. In the name of Jesus Christ, Father God, let us not go ahead of You, nor behind You, but hand in hand with You. Let us both hear & obey your voice. In chapter 3 the Chinese prayed for many terminally patients, many times. Eventually, most of them were cured. Persistence. Faithfulness.

Wigglesworth (in The Essential Smith Wigglesworth a book by Warner & Lee) admonishes us that we will miss a great deal if we do not begin to act in the name of Jesus. Wigglesworth encourages us to just begin to bind & cast out devils in the "name of Jesus" so that many people will become loosed of their infirmities.
3rd, he reminds us to seek the notoriety for Jesus & not for ourselves & thus lose God's blessing not only for ourselves but also for others. He goes on to say that there is nothing stopping the flow of God except the believer's failure to believe & to act.
Let us repent, take courage & act in the name of Jesus. Wigglesworth encourages us to copy him or to copy Jesus, to lay hands on the ill, & to command, "Come out of him, in the name of Jesus." Wigglesworth wants us to exercise our spiritual muscles & notes that "we are made in hard places; at wit's end corner, with no way out. A man is made in adversity"...
Chapter 19 Greater Works Shall We Do quotes Wigglesworth: "Many of you know as far back as 12-14 years ago, how we used to gather with small companies of people, & divine healing was a small thing in those days, but as we lived & moved among the people they were healed & they are healed today...All over the world I tell the people that since the Lord healed me over 30 years ago, I don't know what it is to have a body. Hallelujah. It is redemption in all its fullness, no neuralgia, no stomach trouble, no kidney disease, no dyspepsia, no rheumatism. Hallelujah. No lumbago, no corns, absolutely & entirely a new order of things. This is the inheritance of all that seek Him; this is the inheritance there is in Jesus...
Listen to His word today: 'Verily, verily,
I say to you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; & greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto My Father (John 14:12)' Oh, glory to God. Sometimes we fail, but God never does...
The moment you believe you are "mantled" with a new power to lay hold of possibility & make it reality."
Like Elijah. "Unbelief is sin...This is the work of God that you believe."
Chapter 24 Being Hid with Christ in God Wigglesworth says. "Every ailment is of satanic origin"...
Ever Increasing Faith by Smith Wigglesworth admonishes us to be walking letters of His Word, to dare to act in God, & to dare to believe, for when we know God's spiritual truths & do not act, it grieves the Holy Spirit.
Wigglesworth feels that many potential spiritual heroes have become zeroes, due to inaction.
Besides, it is not us, but the Holy Spirit in us. Let us, let the genie out of the bottle.
Philippians 3:13-14 reminds us to forget "those things which are behind & reach(ing) forth to those things which are before.
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus"...

God told Demos Shakarian (as reported by John and Elizabeth Sherrill in The Happiest People on Earth) that we spirit filled humans should never doubt His power & that His power is the birthright of every Christian.
We need only accept God's power. Second, God told Demos that He wants all His church to do this work of healing. Revolutionary. Awesome. Beautiful. Demos notes that Pastor Prince became known for his insistence (a) that not clergy, theologians, nor preachers, but men & women with ordinary jobs in the ordinary world will be God's most important channel & (b) that healings like the ones recorded in the Bible are meant to be part of the normal experience of the church in every age.
Pastor Prince founded his beliefs on the Bible & his experience with evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson.
Sometimes when the healing presence of the Lord would arrive, both Demos & Charles would notice it by the weight & warmth of God as though a heavy blanket were settling over their shoulders.

Charismatic Catholics will appreciate Father DeGrandis' statement, "We have the gifts of charisms of healing & miracles...Miracles...we find in 1 Cor. 12, as 1 of the charismatic gifts given to many of the faithful.
The whole healing ministry is rooted in the Document on the Laity, Chapter 1, Section 3, where it says:
'These gifts are given to the laity for the building of the Body of Christ.

It is a family tree or diagram of family illnesses & sins rather than the traditional genealogy most people are familiar with...
There is a difference between instant or progressive healing & a miracle.
Many healings take time, as does it take time for a seed to grown into a flower or a stalk of corn or a tree.
Miracles are those healings that are instantaneous, but also magic in that the disease is/was incurable to modern day medicine.
Everything & everybody failed, except God, for those that believe. That is the key.

There are many old timers who insist on a daily bowel movement to keep them healthy. They will do whatever it takes to make this happen. Well, the Christian will become constipated, full of foul gas, if he refuses the share the joy/wisdom/insights/blessings that God has revealed to/bestowed upon himself.
A Christian who hoards Christ, will find that he himself has become a bag of dead bones/a corpse...
Additionally, do not be floored with current or past heroes who walk in power.
The majority of ministries have many intercessors who fast & pray 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This means that the hero is not so much a hero as much as he/she is a wall plug allowing Holy Spirit power to flow through the intercession/ praise/wires from the battery/generator of God to the people, in the same way that a light bulb is illuminated when the switch is turned on.

1st Thessalonians 5:23 - I pray God, your whole spirit, soul & body be preserved blameless (not having sin/disease/sickness/deformity/defect/insanity) unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1st John 5:14-15 NJKV - Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. If we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Revelation 12:10 NIV -Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say, "Now have come the salvation, power, kingdom of our God, & authority of His Christ; for the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day & night, has been hurdled down." (Spiritual insight: We have been given the power of attorney for Christ to act in His behalf, even over the accuser.)

COMMENTARY: We are NOT stating a "name it & claim it" protocol based on "me, myself & I", but on the power of God & in the time of God, to honor His word. It is always God the Father, Jesus the son & the Holy Spirit who ALWAYS do the healing, but in us & through us, in each generation. They, not us, must ALWAYS get the glory, the praise, the honor & the adoration. 2nd, healing or deliverance should always be free, per the Vatican council. No individual should personally benefit from serving another.
This is God's work, not ours; God's power, not ours. The windmill should not get the credit for making electricity. It is the wind that is the power. The watermill should not get the credit for making energy. It is the water that is the source of the power. Likewise, we are only the light in the light bulb plugged into God, our power source...
Do we fail to raise the dead & heal the lepers? Of course, because self reliance is of NO avail, even in the name of Jesus, because it is the He in me that gets the job done. Once we are dead to self, then He can become alive in & through us. Fabulous. What we could never do in His name, He can & will do, using us & His Holy Spirit power. Awesome. Thanks be to God. Glory to Jehovah God. Praise His Holy Name...
In addition, there is a special ministry of healing, which only God commissions & has ordained before we were born. This is not God's sovereign healing through us from time to time, but the full time appointment of individuals to careers in the healing ministry. However, those (perhaps in their retirement years or in generations, cities & nations where the Holy Spirit is empowering & overwhelming His children) available to Him, He will grow up in Him & gift like a Moses, Noah, Elijah, Abraham, & Paul to disciple & mentor others whose ears & hearts are ready to receive Him.
If we are living in the last generation, then a greater portion of the Holy Spirit is available to each of us, to ready the nations for His 2nd & final coming.

1st Corinthians 12:29-31 KJV Are all apostles, prophets, teachers, workers of miracles?
Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? Covert earnestly the best gifts.

COMMENTARY: Why is God sometimes so slow to heal when we do & say all the "right things"?
Sometimes we can stand in faith with the power of attorney on behalf of another individual. Sometimes God requires the ill individual to step up to the plate with his own faith. A simplistic example is an alcoholic who needs to address the root issues of the illness as well as the character issues, lest he fall back into sin. If I am the alcoholic, then I need to work on my own character issues & root causes with the help of the Lord + dedicated friends & family. There is "much" to learn of spiritual things. Healing is not a quick fix but a lover's walk with our future mate, Christ. Healing can be fixing a broken body part, creating a new body part (miracle), or delivering one from evil spirits. Sometimes we demand a chemical brain imbalance correction when in fact we may need the eviction of evil spirits. Perhaps the ill individual has not been anointed with oil by church elders? Perhaps the ill one has not been baptized in water for the forgiveness of sins? Perhaps the ill individual person has not been baptized in the Holy Spirit? Sometimes it makes NO difference our approach, because God is the foreman, but sometimes a wrench will not do the job of a screwdriver. We need to be tutored by the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes we students have to repeat our lessons until we get it right. It could be a simple issue of attitude rather than method. God always looks at the heart & never the college degrees (knowledge), but most of all He looks for FAITH in JESUS CHRIST to act, never doubting, never double minded.

Acts 19:13-17 NIV - Some Jews who went around driving out EVIL SPIRITS tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed (demonized). They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." 7 sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this.
1 day the EVIL SPIRIT answered them, "Jesus I know, & I know about Paul, but who are you?"
Then the man who had the EVIL SPIRIT jumped on & overpowered them all.

Derek Prince reminds us that the "right formula" is NOT what it takes to be delivered. It takes the Holy Spirit to be & stay delivered. No substitutes. If the Holy Spirit does not already live in our heart or if He does not immediately move into our heart after the evil spirit(s) has vacated, then there is a good chance the enemy will return with many roommates.
Matthew 12:43-45 NIV - "When an EVIL SPIRIT comes out of a man, it goes through & places seeking rest & does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean & put in order. Then it goes & takes with it 7 other spirits more wicked than itself.
They go in & live here. The final condition of that man is worse than the 1st."
Derek Prince in They Shall Expel Demons has some ground rules for praying for "deliverance" for others:
(1) be under authority, (2) minister at least in pairs (Jesus sent his disciples out in pairs.), (3) never minister alone to the opposite sex, (4) rely on the atonement of Christ & not on our authority, (5) never charge for your work, & (6) speak the word of God to the enemy. 1st Timothy 5:22 NIV Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands.

Reinhard Bonnke in Mighty Manifestations: The Gifts & Power of the Holy Spirit cautions the self made healers NOT to expect power: due to attending sermons, lectures, schools, due to pride, or due to determination.
Rather we can expect God Himself to act when there is compassion, empathy, crisis & a heart cry of desperation. Bonnke contends that healing will not be the result of what we think or say, but what is in our heart, for God looks at the heart & not at our techniques...
When you have prayed over 11 people who subsequently were not healed, do not quit. #1, we need to learn that it is NOT us who is the healer, but God. #2, many people go a long time "practicing as an apprentice" before they get their wings. As you study renown healers, you will discover that many had the same dilemma, but the same hope. Their secret is that they did not quit...
The old testament of the Bible story of Moses & Joshua is an illustration of the spiritual journey that the most of us need to travel. God promised to Moses the nation of Israel. Moses saw that land just before his death.
It was Joshua who claimed that land. God did not drop it into his lap. The land belonged to other nations. Joshua had to go to war to accomplish God's will. In life, the real enemy Satan. God did not pluck the Hebrews out of Egypt by translocation & plop them elsewhere. The slaves were chased out of town. Then they had to plod through the desert sand of life's tribulations for 40 years, due to UNBELIEF. That entire generation of adults died in their UNBELIEF, including Moses. It was the descendants who went to war to claim God's "will".
The children were the "beneficiaries", due to the parents' UNBELIEF. Most of us do not get instantaneous miracle healings. Most of us have to fight a bloody war to lay claim to God's will. Nonetheless, let us not grow faint hearted & loose out, as did the parents of those children, who took up the assignment of God that their parents had dropped. The children laid claim to what God had promised. They did receive God's best.
The nation of Israel was born. It was from Israel that Christ was born, died & resurrected.

Benny Hinn talks of God's known will & His secret will. Many Jews were annihilated during world war 2 in what we now call the holocaust. The Jews were not healed. Instead, they were killed. We all know that martyrs are the elect of God, if they die for Him. Perhaps martyrdom was part of His secret or permissive will for them.
We all know that the true enemy at that time was Satan. Hitler was only his instrument.
These Jews, for a large part, did not know nor acknowledge Jesus, the front door to God.
Many in all likelihood did not cry out to Jesus to help & heal them...
Let us not be overcome with bitterness, defeat, discouragement & lack of courage.
Let us not lose any prize, which Christ has for us, whether it be healing, martyrdom, or keys to a city.

Benny Hinn interviewed Oral Roberts on TV (5/19/2005 USA East Coast airing). Oral (who, like Benny, has a healing ministry) reminded us that all born again Christians can pray for healings and miracles, but that the "gift of the healing ministry" usually is for some rather than many (perhaps because of our own unreadiness).
With himself, the Holy Spirit comes and goes. It is the Holy Spirit that makes him aware that a healing is happening or will occur. At that point of confidence he knows for certain that the healing is a done deal.
He believes that daily praying in tongues is imperative for the working of the Holy Spirit.
However, he also believes that the gift of tongues is separate (such as for use in public). Oral says the Holy Spirit knocks self out of the way. Then God is free to do His work. We must NEVER take His credit.

Chapter 9 The Divine Plan shares a delightful story about numbers, or more specifically about nothings. There was a million dollars. The zeroes, nothings, got jealous of the #1. The last zero moved to the front of the line. Then the others followed. Each move reduced the total value until all were worth less & less, from 1,000,000 to 0100,000 to 0010,000 to 0001,000, etc down to 0000001. Finally, they recognized that each had their place to which they needed to return to regain their original value. So it is with us in our position in God. He is #1.

We are likewise vulnerable to Satan in all 3 areas, unless spirit, soul & body are each indwelt with Holy Spirit. Then (when indwelt) we not only can refuse to accept harm, but can also allow God to heal others through the Holy Spirit's presence in us (spirit, body, mind). Like Christ, we will be able to see what God is doing/saying (in heaven) & do/say likewise (on earth). He points out that Moses tried to get God to fix the problem of the armies chasing him into the Red Sea. Instead, God dropped the ball into his lap & told him to fix the problem.
Likewise, we are reminded that Jesus finished God's work & left the ball in our hands.
Obviously, the ball is (both) the Holy Spirit & the Word of God. We, not God, are to weld it.
We have a choice, to allow the evil spirit or to allow the Holy Spirit to manifest & operate in our lives in our generation. Let us not wait until we are bedridden in a nursing home to act.
Chapter 25 Adventures in God shares the story of a 6 year old who of her own volition healed a family acquaintance. This is but 1 example of what God is doing in this generation. Scripture says that the kingdom of God is the children's bread. Children are the most receptive to the will/mind of God...
Lake contends that there are 3 salvations. Salvation of the spirit. Salvation of the soul.
Salvation of the body. When one commits his spirit, soul (mind), & body to God he receives a triune salvation. He makes an absolute consecration to God. This is the secret to a successful Christian life.
This allows for healing of both mind & body by allowing the mind/body/spirit to be filled with His Holy Spirit. Most Christians stop with the salvation of the spirit. This consecration needs to be hourly/daily to death...
2nd concept is that we are gods (not as Satan wished: to be worshiped, to weld power or to control) but as sons/daughters of God & brothers/sisters of Jesus. Thus, we have God's gifts of His Holy Spirit at our disposal. This includes healing. We refuse to accept any disease in our own body.

I thought, "I don’t read fiction." I picked it up, I took it to the fire station & read it.
In the book, the Gospel of love is in this story. I started to read it. I got so convicted of the sin & wrong things I had been doing all my life. The presence of God showed up in the room. He started to speak to me, “You know, if you’re such a good person, what about all these sins that you’ve done, the lies & all this other stuff.” I knew that night I had to make a decision. I could literally feel as if I did not make a decision to follow God that day, I would spend eternity in darkness. So with a lot of weeping & soul searching that night, I said, “God, if you are real, give me a voice to follow & I will follow You.”
This peaceful serenc voice was blowing through my soul, speaking to me about how to treat people with love, compassion & kindness. That was how I met the Lord.
DAVE: He said to me, “I’m going to show you what’s wrong with your patients.
I want you to pray with them & when you do, I’ll heal them.”
DAVE: The 1st thing that I had to learn was that God has already given me, you & all those people all the power & authority they need to heal. So we don’t need to beg God for healing. We simply (go & command). Jesus said, “Go heal the sick.” He didn’t say, "Beg my Father to heal the sick." He said, “Go heal the sick. Raise the dead.” So what I do, what I teach people is just go out & command sickness to leave...(In Jesus’ name).
I command sickness, disease & neck pain to leave. I command shoulders, bones, ligaments, nerves to be healed, ligaments healed, nerves healed. You don’t have to know a lot of anatomy. To command the body’s structures to be healed & sickness to leave is a great to start. You will see very good results right away.
DAVE: 1 of the other keys to operating successfully in healing is persistence.
In Luke, Chapter 11, right after Jesus taught the disciples how to pray, He taught them how to persist. Persistence is just something we have to learn how to do.
DAVE: God wants to do something with our healthcare that is completely different than what the government wants for healthcare. I think 1 of the things that the Lord wants to impress upon us is the fact that we’re relying too much on: insurance companies, doctors & the government to provide healthcare for us when Jesus came to be our healer. He is raising up an army. There are thousands of people out there in America, 10's of 1,000's, maybe 100's of 1,000's who are learning to operate in the supernatural. They’re learning about healing, words of knowledge & kingdom principles needed to release healing. If we had 100,000 believers out there in the world who would just pray for people to be healed, we could probably close down some hospitals.
We probably wouldn’t need as much healthcare insurance.
I think that’s the Lord’s heart (for us) to rely on Him to be our healthcare system.
[Our ability to heal is a fruit (rather than a gift already inside of us).
We have to practice/tend God's garden inside of us, once His seed (Yeshua) is planted in our heart.]

1st Kings 19:19 NIV - Elijah went from there & found Elisha son of Shaphat.
He was plowing with 12 yoke of oxen. He himself was driving the 12th pair.
Elijah went up to him & threw his cloak around him. Elisha then left his oxen & ran after Elijah.
(Spiritual insight: The cloak/mantle: God's anointing, often inherited/passed on from a mentor.)

2nd Kings 2:13-15 NIV - Elijah said to Elisha, "Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?" "Let me inherit a double portion of your (Holy) spirit," Elisha replied.
2nd Kings 2:13-15 NIV - He (Elisha) picked up the cloak that had fallen from Elijah & went back & stood on the bank of the Jordan. Then he took the cloak (prayer shawl) that had fallen from him & struck the water with it. "Where now is the Lord, the God of Elijah?" he asked. When he struck the water, it divided to the right & to the left & he crossed over. The company of the prophets from Jericho, who were watching, said, "The (Holy) spirit of Elijah is resting on Elisha." They went to meet him & bowed to the ground before him.
2nd Kings 9:1-3,6,12-13 KJV - The prophet Elisha summoned a man from the company of the prophets & said to him, "Tuck your cloak (prayer shawl) into your belt, take this flask of oil with you & go to Ramoth Gilead. When you get there, look for Jehu, son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. Go to him. Get him away from his companions & take him into an inner room. Then take the flask and pour the oil on his head & declare, 'This is what eh Lord says, I anoint you king over Israel.'"
Jehu got up & went into the house. Then the prophet poured the oil on Jehu's head & declared, "This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says, 'I anoint you king over the Lord's people Israel.'"
Jehu said, "Here is what He told me...what the Lord says. I anoint you king over Israel.'"
They hurried & took their cloaks (prayer shawls) & spread them under him on the bare steps.
Then they blew the trumpet & shouted, "Jehu is king!"

1st Chronicles 11:3 KJV - All the elders of Israel came to the king of Hebron.
David made a covenant with them in Hebron - before the Lord.
They anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord by Samuel.

Psalm 23:5 KJV - You anoint my head with oil.

Joel 2:27 KJV - "My people shall never be ashamed. It shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh. Your sons & daughters shall prophesy. COMMENTARY - NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take personal or ministry credit for healings or deliverance.
Always give away the credit to God. 1 brick does not make a brick house. The final piece to a puzzle does not make it the entire picture. Take the case of the demoniac whose demons fled into the pigs. Certainly there were grandparents, parents, aunts & uncles, cousins & siblings who prayed for that man. Certainly there were doctors & rabbis who prayed for that man. How many years did they pray? 75? 50? 25? 5? How man years did he himself pray? Jesus did show up & heal/deliver that man. Why? Why did He not heal many others with the same disorder? Why was that man in the right place at the right time? Why was he healthy? Why had no one stoned him to death? Why? Because God had been his covering for all those past years. God had been answering the prayers of others. Just because an individual or ministry is able to finish a job, does not mean that he deserves/ is entitled to the credit/fame for rescuing someone. A man who puts the roof on a house is not entitled to say he built the house. Each organ of the human body is equal to another, for none is superior; it takes all organs working together to make us alive. Scripture says that those who plant the seed & those who harvest the grain will both share in the rewards. John 4:36-38 NIV 36"The sower & the reaper may be glad together.
37Thus the saying, 'One sows & another reaps.' is true. 38I sent you to reap what you have not worked for.
Others have done the hard work & you have reaped the benefits of their labor."
Father God, in the name of Your son Jesus Christ, we repent of our daily pride/arrogance/self-sufficiency.
Father, keep a close watch over us, to keep us from temptation & from sin.

BEWARE when you say, "I am the one who healeth the." Why? God's name is I AM. God may remove His Holy Spirit/blessing/protection/assignment from us, as he did from King Saul, who disobeyed Him. Ouch.
God is to get 101% of healing praise/credit. Always. No exceptions. Consider Judas. He could have had it all, but lost it all. 1 little root, love of money/covetness grew up like a weed & choked him out of everything.
We humans need always beware. The enemy is always slinking around the corner hoping to catch us at our weakest. We have NEVER arrived; rather it is Christ Who has arrived in us.
