HOLY SPIRIT (Ruach HaKodesh) BAPTISM
  is the initial Prerequisite/Prequalification/Empowerment/Commissioning
for fruitful ministry
EACH of us has been created with a DESTINY!

Matthew 10:1,5,8    He (while Jesus was still alive) called His 12 disciples to Him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every  disease and sickness...These 12, Jesus sent out with the following instructions, "...Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons."

However, God's Holy Spirit baptism gives resilience and boldness.  Jesus' disciples did healing ministry, but at least on one occasion were intimidated when it came to deliverance.  Jesus had to finish the job
they left undone - apparently NOT due to the disciples' NOT receiving 2 gifts of the Holy Spirit (healing
and evil spirit discernment/exorcism), but perhaps rather due to fear, which for many is a spirit of fear. 
The disciples apparently were water baptized for the remission of their sins after acknowledging Jesus as Messiah.  Subsequently they went in pairs to heal, deliver and do miracles BEFORE Pentecost when the Holy Spirit baptism came.  Judas and Peter both hand picked by Christ were traitors before the Holy Spirit baptism which gives boldness.
Remember Adam and Eve had ALL authority on earth and Satan tricked them out out of that until Jesus came and retrieved the power Adam abdicated.  Genesis 3 + Matthew 4:8-9 +  Matthew 28:18 
Remember, Isaac was deceived by his younger son Jacob who stole his elder brother Esau's birthright?
Genesis 25:29-34   Our enemy Satan the con artist intends that we remain ignorant and impotent sons
of God.
After the death of Jesus when the Comforter came, there was a turnaround, evidenced especially by Peter (who denied his affiliation with Jesus - 3 times).  The Holy Spirit empowered them with audacity and violence towards the enemy.
Mark 9:17-19,25,28-29 TPNT    17"Teacher, I brought my son to You because he has a mute (dumb) spirit.  18Wherever it would seize him him it throws him down; he foams at the mouth and he gnashes
his teeth and is stiff (pines/wastes away).  I asked Your disciples to cast it out, but they were not able." 
19He said, "O unbelieving generation, until when will I be with you?  How long am I to endure you? 
Bring him to Me."  25Jesus...rebuked the unclean (foul) spirit by saying to it, "Mute and deaf spirit,
I command you; you must come out from him at once and never again can you enter into him."  
28His disciples asked Him privately, "Why were we not able to cast it out?"  29He said to them,
"This kind is in no way able to come out except in prayer (and fasting)."
Each individual in each generation needs to recognize the implication of Jesus' words spoken on the cross, "It is finished!"
[What is finished?  Jesus' regaining/taking back authority and power over everything - over death, over disease, over incurable diseases, over insanity. 
However, we cannot access that spiritual reality until we do 2 things.  Believe and ask.  Believe in Jesus as savior of body, mind, and spirit. Believe in Jesus as baptizer in the Holy Spirit.  Repent of each and every known sin. Ask Jesus to come live in our heart.  Ask Jesus to baptize us in His Holy Spirit.  Thank Him based on His Word in scripture and not based on our 5 senses' perception.  Allow the Holy Spirit time to download spiritual realities into our human spirit - and then our human spirit to download into our mind/intellect and into our body.  Continue to trust His adoption of us even though we may not immediately feel adopted.  Continue to trust the work of His Holy Spirit in our human spirit.  Continue to feed our human spirit with the Word of God daily.  Continue to fellowship with Him daily in prayer and praise.  Continue to fellowship with other Christians.
Post Script.  An "act" may be necessary to SEAL the deal.  That is WATER BAPTISM.  Emerson Ferrell contends (along with many others) that one needs to be immersed 3x in the name of the Trinity.

Mark 16:14-18    Later (after Jesus' resurrection from the dead) Jesus appeared to the 11 as they were eating.  He rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.  He said to them. "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.  Whoever believes AND is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned (by Satan and by their unforgiven sin).  These signs will accompany those who believe: In My name:  They will  drive out demons.  They will speak in new tongues.  They will pick up snakes with their hands.  When they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all.  They will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."  After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and He sat at the right hand of God.  Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His word by the signs that accompanied it.

Luke 4:18-19    The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me (me) to preach the gospel to the poor.  He has sent Me (me) to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.  (Spiritual insight = The Trinity/Jesus/the Holy Spirit in me is God at work in the earth.)

John 20:19-23    On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came (through the locked door) and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you"  After He said this, He showed them His (crucified) hands and side.  The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.  Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you.  As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you."  With that He breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit.  If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven (released from apologizing and debt owed, but not free to abuse).  If you (retain) do not forgive them, they are (retained) not forgiven."
Now Thomas (called Didymus) 1 of the 12, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.

Acts 6:3-6 TPNT    3"You  brothers must now provide 7 approved men from yourselves, (already) filled (baptized) with the (Holy) Spirit and wisdom, whom we could appoint for this (specific ministry) need.  4We shall persist in prayer and in the service of the Word."  5The request pleased the whole multitude and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochoros, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch, 6whom they stood before the apostles; when they prayed, they laid hands on them (to commission/empower/appoint them).
Acts 8:14-17    14When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God (Jesus as Messiah), they sent Peter and John to them.  15When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they
had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.  17Then Peter and John placed their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit (baptism).   
Acts 8:13-17 TPNT    13Even Simon (a powerful practicer of magic arts) himself believed and after he was baptized (with water for the repentance of sins), he was attaching himself to Philip; he was amazed when he saw that there were signs and great miracles.  14When the apostles in Jerusalem hard that the Samaritans welcomed the Word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, 15,who when they went down from Jerusalem, prayed on their behalf to the end that they would take the Holy Spirit: 16for not yet was it fallen upon any of them, but they were only being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 
17Then Peter and John were laying hands on them and they were taking the Holy Spirit.

Acts 10:44-47 NIV    43Everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.  44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message...46For they heard them speaking in in tongues and praising god.  Then Peter said, 47"Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water"...in the name of Jesus Christ.

Autobiography.  Father insists that as a certified college professor, priest, chaplain, and pastoral counselor, he would be disqualified - without the baptism in the Holy Spirit - and end up with human results rather than God's.  He also notes that the short time after the Holy Spirit baptism is the honeymoon period. He says this baptism is a must for each of us, not only for priests and revered saints.  He was privileged to be prayed over by Kathryn Kuhlman in Jerusalem. He remarks that only one who has a personal relationship with Christ can evangelize and explain to others their need for a personal relationship with Jesus; one cannot share what he does not have. Lake contends that one must consecrate his spirit, his mind, and his body to God.  Salvation/water baptism of the spirit alone is insufficient for God to do His best work in us.  God wants us to be clones of Jesus, sons with Holy Spirit powers equal to Jesus.  We must not be so heavenly minded that we are no earthly good.  We must daily (until death) hunger after and pursue the mind of God in each situation,

In Chapter 25 Adventures in God Lake testifies that God healed him of a 9 year bout with constipation
upon his 100% consecration of his spirit, mind and body to God.
Chapter 25 also addresses Paul's thorn in the flesh.  Lake contends that on the 3rd plea, Paul was healed.  Lake believes 2nd Corinthians 12:9 should read, "Paul, My grace is sufficient for you (to heal your spirit,
to heal your mind and to heal your body)!
Chapter 43 The Baptism of the Holy Ghost has a plethora of "awe inspiring, unique, and encouraging" sermons. This chapter in itself is a reason to buy this book.  We recommend it as a "must read" book.

Emerson gives his personal testimony + his understanding that there needs to be 3 water immersions (baptisms), in the name of the Father, the Son, AND the Holy Spirit.  (The 3rd seems to be for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Who empowers us to be useful to the Trinity and imparts both spiritual gifts and spiritual fruit enabling us to raise the dead, heal, deliver and do miracles.  Emerson suggests that one's operation in these powers is the "sign" marking one's passport into the Kingdom of God, rather than one's "speaking in tongues".  Jesus began His ministry immediately after His baptism by John.  Jesus said per Luke 4:21 and Isaiah 61:1-2, "TODAY this scripture has been fulfilled in your ears.")

[One might be able to conclude that Jesus the man (flesh and soul) was enabled to begin to become the Christ when His human spirit was united to the Holy Spirit.  Probably that would have been true of the 1st Adam - and of each human.  However, as Jesus' Spirit was God from the moment of conception, that is what (in all likelihood) enabled Him to never submit to temptation.  Even though Jesus' disciples did wonders, they did greater works AFTER Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, when He sent our helper the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. 
There is a deeper understanding.  When one's human spirit is immersed into the Holy Spirit (when the veil to heaven is ripped open) one can (often at will) peer into the mind and heart of God.  One can WATCH what the Father God is doing.  One can reproduce it on earth.  Jesus said that He did ONLY what He SAW His Father in heaven doing!  Remember!  Jesus taught in the Lord's prayer for us to ask, "May it be done on earth as it is now done in heaven."  When we observe it being done in heavenly places, this prayer becomes more of a command, "Be done on earth NOW, as it is now done in heaven, in Jesus' name."

Jesus told Dale that one must believe in Him AND also be baptized in order to be saved.  Dale admonishes us to ask our pastors to baptize us with water and to ask Jesus to baptize us with His Holy Spirit.  Those of us who have had an infant christening or infant baptism, may want/need to pursue an adult baptism, even if our local congregation accepts that as sufficient.  Lakes, rivers, oceans and swimming pools work as well as church tubs.

May 2004 magazine The Voice of the Martyrs spells out the trials of those who first printed the Bible in various countries and the trials even now in many countries.  The Word of God is surely written in not only the blood of Christ, but also the blood of many translators, printers, and holy smugglers. Certainly scripture contains the secrets to eternal life, and to the healing of infirmities, broken relationships, broken bodies and broken minds.  It is a treasure the enemy does not want us to share.

Section New Testament Baptisms delves into the necessity of adult "baptism by immersion in water" for believers, to separate ourselves from the power of Satan.  This issue is also covered in Prince's book They Shall Expel Demons. Regardless of our doctrinal position, if we follow Jesus' example as protocol, then baptism by immersion seems to be the spiritual thing to do.  This can be done in a swimming pool, in a large pot of clay, in a river, or in the ocean, as well as at church.

Chapter 5 Good Times, Bad Times  A pastor asked Delores , "Do you know some things you think you shouldn't know?"  (This gift of the Holy Spirit is called the "gift of knowledge".)  Delores asked, "Will I always know bad things about people?"  He replied, "No, not unless God is going to use you to set them free or to help them through it."  (However, some teach that the gifts of God are irrevocable, and thus can be misused.) 
The pastor went on to explain to Delores that she was 'baptized in the Holy Spirit" and "received some (ministry) gifts" (tongues, interpretation of tongues, and gift of knowledge) at the same time that she received her healing.  No one had ever explained this to her before. 
Chapter 6 The Surrender  Another aspect of revelation regarding the gift of knowledge - Delores during ministry exclaimed, "I know the heart healing is here tonight," because she recognized that that her own "heart was acting the part of the heart being healed...irregular, stopping, and then starting again."  Her "own heart became normal again."  She asked the patient to claim the healing.
Chapter 7 The Ministry  "When God healed me that night, He also baptized me in the Holy Spirit.  Then He bestowed on me the gift of healing...Until we receive the baptism and are filled, we cannot consistently manifest the fruit of the Spirit...Jesus commanded us to receive the baptism.  That makes us whole.  Without it we cannot be whole."
Sometimes the Holy Spirit will "slay people in the spirit" - "when He wants to minister to a person's spirit," mind, or body. "I heard the voice of God saying to me, 'You take care of your business and I'll take care of this' (going under God's anesthesia in order for Him to operate)" when we are ministering.

Chapter 15 The Double Minded Man shares that Satan tricks us by injecting thoughts into our minds beginning with the word "I".  For instance, if on Monday we accept Jesus as our savior/healer/baptizer, but on Thursday we ask again to be saved/healed/baptized, we may have been listening to/believing Satan's lies and not standing on/quoting out loud the facts of scripture.
Chapter 17 Deliverance warns us to steer away from exorcisms where the speaking of tongues is allowed during deliverance, because demons can speak in tongues.

We need "a fresh new baptism each day in order to wash away all the structures we have accepted without the witness (permission/release/OK/yes/green light/empowerment/directive) from the 'Spirit of truth'...
to "reintroduce" us "to the principles of the Kingdom, which" we "knew when" we "were inside the Father."

If you are a king/queen, you have a territory.  If you do not know your territory, you are missing your mark for life.  The weak are called to shame the strong.  Stop wining and being beaten down.  God will download inventions into Christians.  Our  blueprints have been preordained before the earth's foundation.
Art rules over the atmosphere of a place; there is a ruling spirit there.  Images/art influence the atmosphere.  There is a territory of art, internet etc. 
The more you want to touch other's lives, the greater your design.  One's circumstances and talents are put at our disposal to help us discover and utilize our callings.  We are kings in territories we need to discover.  As we passionately pursue the Lord's wisdom and power, He will equip/download/assist us in fulfilling our pre-assigned reason for which we were created to exist at this time in this generation.  Colossians 1:9-10
Lord, fill us up with all Your wisdom, intelligence, expertise, assistance, favor and power to accomplish Your plans, so that Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, right now, for Your Glory.  Amen.

(Subsequently) Rees Howell’s broke through into a remarkable journey (ministry) of Intercession.  The Holy Spirit had (already) come in to abide forever.  He knew the power of the Spirit, but he had to seek the face of the Lord over and over again to gain a position of faith for the intercession.   Each time he grew stronger, but his life was like some of the Old Testament prophets as he had to be totally obedient and be prepared to die or go without and give up everything as the Lord tested him for that prayer.  He heard from the Lord and responded with a love that could only have been the Love of God for the world.  His Savior never failed him and when he reached a point of victory he rejoiced and was happy with the life he led in Christ."

He became involved in it and worked at discipling new converts. However, he and his friends sensed spiritual needs in their own lives. And so in the summer of 1906 they spent their summer holiday at the Llandrindod Wells convention (a Welsh equivalent to the English Keswick Conference) where Howells made a pivotal decision.
From the first meeting, Howells was deeply moved.
The realization dawned on him that the Holy Spirit was a person, and not an ‘influence.’ In his words:
'He said to me, "As the Savior had a body, so I dwell in the cleansed temple of the believer. I am a Person. I am God, and I am come to ask you to give your body to Me that I may work through it. I need a body for My temple, but it must belong to Me without reserve, for 2 persons with different wills can never live in the same body. Will you give me yours? But if I come in, I come as God, and you must go out. I shall not mix Myself with your self."
This precipitated a 5-day struggle in Mr. Howells. From the 1st, he realized it was an unconditional surrender, of which he said:
'I had received a sentence of death, as really as a prisoner in the dock. I had lived in my body for 26 years, and could I easily give it up....I wept for days. I lost 7 pounds....Nothing is more real to me than the process I went through for that whole week. The Holy Spirit went on dealing with me, exposing the root of my nature which was self, and you can only get out of a thing what is in its root. Sin was canceled, and it wasn’t sin He was dealing with; it was self'...
Some of the things he (Howells) came to a point of surrender over:
1. His love of money: 'The Lord told him that He would take out of his nature all taste for money and any ambition for the ownership of money.'
2. His choice in making a home: 'I saw I could never give my life to another person, to live to (for) that one alone."
3. His ambition: 'Supposing he had a mission in a town and another mission opened in the same place; if there was jealousy between the 2, and it was better for the town only to have one, then it would be his which would have to go.'
4. His right to a good reputation: 'As he was thinking of men of the Bible who were full of the Holy Ghost, and particularly John the Baptist, the Lord said to him, "Then I may live through you the kind of life I lived through them."'
Finally on Friday of that week he came through.
The book continues with stories of how God worked through this man teaching him faith and intercession as he prayed for the sick, prayed for the salvation of friends and acquaintances, gave up raising his own son to work as a missionary, traveled without any money in his pocket, bought estates, established a Bible school, and prayed for international events, especially during the World War II. And all the while God also continued to deal with his self-life."

Christians may be filled with the Spirit of God
It is their duty to be filled with the Spirit.
Why they are not filled with the Spirit.
The guilt of those who have not the Spirit of God, to lead their minds in duty and prayer.
The consequence that will follow if they are filled with the Spirit.
The consequences if they are not.

There must be NO area of our lives to which we cling to and do NOT replace with (refill with/relinquish to) God.  His Spirit MUST fill every nook and cranny of our lives, with NO vacancy for self NOR a demon.  [Psychiatrists have evicted God and tried to empower self.  WRONG.  This is hurtful (demonic) to both our human spirits and to our souls/minds.  The human self is selfish and greedy.  The self must die to self and live to Messiah Jesus.] This emptying of self and refilling with the Holy Spirit is a DAILY walk - NOT a one time baptism.  This is the mistake most Christians have made.  (Quick, let us repent and be ready; for our groom is on His way to collect His bride. In section Second Coming, author cites the Matthew 25:1-13 story of the 10 maidens waiting for the bridegroom, where 5 had extra oil and 5 did not.
The extra oil symbolizes the baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Dorothy. 5 born again virgins did have oil (the Holy Spirit/salvation), but not extra oil,
and thus were disqualified by the groom (Christ).
