We have seen that it (the idea of purgatory) found expression in 2 Maccabees (This book is found in the Catholic version of the Bible). The Rabbis began to teach that by means of sin offerings, children could alleviate the sufferings of deceased parents. Later Jewish speculation divided the underworld into two abodes, Paradise, a place of happiness, and Gehenna, a place of torment.

Benny explains that Satin tried to exterminate the ancestral line of David that would produce Jesus. He got his foot in the door by tricking Adam and Eve. He began a war against mankind by seducing the offspring of Adam and Eve, as shown in Genesis 6:1-8. Only Noah was found to be uncontaminated by Satin's wiles, so it was through the ancestry of Noah that God allowed Jesus to be born.

1st Peter 3:18-21 KJV/er    Christ has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened (made alive) by the Spirit. He went and preached to the (evil) spirits in prison, which sometime were disobedient, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, 8 souls were saved by water.
Benny Hinn contends that the fallen angels or evil spirits were in prison rather than men (human spirits). Virginia in her grandmother's book Big Angels and Flaming Wild Horses www.6bigangels.com puts forth the proposition that for many years God waited for Satan to repent. At the very least, the people of that generation that rejected Jesus (or those generations until the flood, or those generations prior to the crucifixion) who had not yet heard of the testimony of Jesus Christ unto salvation would then have had that opportunity to repent and receive Him when He/Jesus preached to them in their graves. The 3rd consideration is that the progeny (offspring) of the union between man and evil spirits, needed to be preached to. Benny insists that that generation is specifically mentioned in scripture for a reason. Benny contends that it was Satin's plan to sabotage man's redemption by God.

                                                        Underworld Commentary

Obviously there are "many" ideas on the levels of heaven and the levels of the underworld. One such
idea is presented in The Full Life Study Bible - International Study Bible for Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians, a KJV New Testament. In 2nd Corinthians 12:2-4 Paul calls the 3rd heaven, paradise. The notes at the bottom of that page instruct us that the 1st heaven is the earth's atmosphere. The 2nd heaven contains the stars. The 3rd heaven contains paradise and God's home, plus the home of the deceased believers in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 6:12 says
We are not contending against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness
of this world, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in (high/celestial) heavenly realms (places - perhaps
a middle heaven between earth's atmosphere and God's home). Ephesians 2:2 says

Inside a large thatch hut, musicians play loud, frenetic music before a crowd of rowdy onlookers. On the opposite end of the hut, on a raised stage, sit several wooden statues: nat, or spirit, effigies. I pass through the crowd and enter a space underneath the stage, where a beautiful woman introduces herself as Phyo Thet Pine. She is a nat-kadaw, literally a 'spirit's wife' - a performer who is part psychic, part shaman...Only she isn't a woman; she is a he, a transvestite wearing bright red lipstick, expertly applied black eyeliner, and delicate puffs of powder on each cheek...
The cult of the nats is Myanmar's ancient animist religion. In the 11th century, King Anawrahta established the Theravada school of Buddhism as Myanmar's primary religion. When his attempts to eliminate nat worship, considered a form of occultism not accepted by Buddhist scriptures, proved fruitless, he decided to adapt it instead, creating an official pantheon of 37 spirits to be worshipped as subordinates of the Buddha. The result is that many Buddhist temples in Myanmar now have their own nat-sin, spirit house, attached to the main pagoda.
Though people still worship spirits outside the official pantheon, the 37 enjoy a VIP status, with traveling troupes of dancers, singers, and musicians reenacting the human stories of the spirits' tumultuous lives and violent deaths. But nat-kadaws are more than just actors; they believe that the spirits actually enter their bodies and possess them. Each has an entirely different personality, requiring a change in costume, decorations, and props. Some of the spirits might be female, for whom the male nat-kadaw dons women's clothing; others, warriors or kings, require uniforms and weapons.
To most Burmese, being born female rather than male is karmic punishment indicating grave transgressions in former lifetimes. Many Burmese women, when leaving offerings at temples, pray to be reincarnated as men. But to be born gay—that is viewed as the lowest form of human incarnation. Where this leaves Myanmar's gay men, psychologically, I can only imagine. It perhaps explains why so many become nat-kadaws. It allows them to assume a position of power and prestige in a society that would otherwise scorn them.
Pine, who is head of his troupe, conveys a kind of regal confidence. His trunks are full of make-up and colorful costumes...He became an official nat-kadaw, he says, when he was only 15. He spent his teenage years traveling around villages, performing. He went to Yangon's University of Culture, learning each of the dances of the 37 spirits. It took him nearly 20 years to master his craft. Now, at age 33, he commands his own troupe and makes 110 dollars for a two-day festival—a small fortune by Burmese standards...
Pine seizes 2 women from the crowd—the wife of the hut's owner, Zaw, and her sister. He hands them a rope attached to a pole, ordering them to tug it. As the frightened women comply, they bare the whites of their eyes and begin shaking. Shocked as if with a jolt of energy, they start a panicked dance, twirling and colliding into members of the crowd. The women, seemingly oblivious to what they are doing, stomp to the spirit altar, each seizing a machete.
The women wave the knives in the air, dancing only a few feet away from me. Just as I am considering my quickest route of escape, they collapse, sobbing and gasping. The nat-kadaws run to their aid, cradling them, and the women gaze with bewilderment at the crowd. Zaw's wife looks as if she had just woken from a dream. She says she doesn't remember what just happened. Her face looks haggard, her body lifeless. Someone leads her away.
Pine explains that the women were possessed by 2 spirits, ancestral guardians who will now provide the household with protection in the future. Zaw, as the house owner, brings out 2 of his children to 'offer' to the spirits, and Pine says a prayer for their happiness. The ceremony ends with an entreaty to the Buddha."

                                                           Water Spirits Commentary

There are many sea side ceremonies. Beware. FIRST bind all evil and loose all holy Godly blessings including God's angels. Perchance you have had a water/lake/ocean side wedding and now your marriage has gone sour; connect the dots. It could be that part of the malady is water spirit interference.
Repent, renounce, reject, bind all that offends God. Then receive His forgiveness and blessings.
Loose His blessings into the life of your X, your mate, your children, your in-laws and your marriage.
There are many vacations taken along water ways. Just because one is asleep, does not mean invisible monsters (evil/marine/ water spirits) do not invade your space. Always, always, always cover your camping area, hotel/motel room, auto, camping trail, family members AND pets with the blood of Jesus Christ.
Speaking of animals, often water spirits are known to either inhabit or turn into things [eg. non-kosher/unclean animals/fish/ birds (owls/frogs/pigs/shellfish) reptiles/wild animals/pets]. So if one gets bitten or stung in the ocean, it could have been triggered by an enemy. Not necessarily, but a possibility. Cover oneself spiritually with the whole armor of God, wear a bathing suit impregnated with the blood of Christ, and stand on Psalm 91.

Owen Jorgensen in Book 4 of Supernatural, The Life of William Branham, The Evangelist and His Acclamation (1951-1954) shares Branham's understanding of the final rule of God on earth. There are to be 5 major warnings and 3 major comings. The Holy Spirit is to warn us through (1) Elijah, (2) Elisha, (3) John the Baptist, (4) a prophet to the Gentiles just before the rapture, and then (5) a prophet to the Jews just before Armageddon. Revelation 11:2 says, "The court which is outside the temple leave out; measure it not, for it is given to the Gentiles. The holy city (Jerusalem) shall they tread under foot 42 months (3.5 years)."
Then there will be a 1,000 years of peace.
Regarding the comings of Christ.
We know of Christmas, the birth of God's son on earth
and of John the Baptist testifying to His being the Messiah.
Coming #2 may be the rapture in the air of the bride of Christ before the tribulation.

Revelation 21:1-4 KJV The 1st heaven and the 1st earth were passed away. There was no more sea. I, John, saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. I heard a great voice come out of heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men. He will dwell with them. They shall be His people. God Himself shall be with them and be their God. Many believe that AD, after the death of Christ, those who BELIEVE in Christ will upon death go directly to be with God.
In Owen Jorgensen's Supernatural: The Life of William Branham, 2 hours before death, Fred Bosworth meets and chats with many of his converts to Christ. Bosworth is a spiritual mentor of Branham. (Catholics, too, believe in the communion with saints. The scriptural meaning of saint is one who has accepted Christ as savior. We are NOT the super hero. It is the Holy Spirit in our body that makes us a saint or holy. It is the work of Jesus. NOT our work. However, we are NOT to converse with the dead, as in fortunetelling or spiritualism, for it is forbidden by God in scripture. One reason is that we often end up talking with lying, evil, deceptive spirits whose goal is to steal our salvation.)

Owen Jorgensen in Book 5 of Supernatural, The Life of William Branham, The Teacher and His Rejection (1955-1960) shares Branham's understanding of what happens to man between death and the second coming of Jesus Christ. Branham was taken in a vision to heaven and shown the place in scripture called "souls under the altar".

REVELATION 6:9-11 NIV When he (the angel) opened the 5th seal, I (John) saw UNDER THE ALTAR the SOULS of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until You judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?" Then each of them was given a white robe and told to wait a little longer until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

From a vision Branham understands that prophets and their converts wait (in a waiting room) in the 6th dimension (perhaps Paradise or a place like that in one part of heaven). Branham was considered to be a prophet during his lifetime. Branham believes that the martyred Jews (such as those who went through the holocaust) wait "under the altar" for Jesus' second coming. Heaven is a place where youth is restored and where there is perfect holy love. Branham considers the 7th dimension (heaven or part of heaven) to be the residence of God. Branham's messages indicate that another Elijah, such as John the Baptist, will minister to the Gentiles just prior to the rapture (rising to heaven) of the Bride of Christ.
He believes that Christ's Bride will be raptured just prior to the tribulation.
The unraptured Gentiles will have a unique opportunity to receive Christ in the 1st half of the tribulation.
The Jews in Israel will have a special opportunity to receive Christ the 2nd half of the tribulation.   Branham indicates that there will be 2 final prophets (having the spirit of Moses and Elijah) who will minister to the Jews in Israel just before the last war of Armageddon, at the end of the tribulation (which is also the beginning of the Millennium, a 1,000 year reign with the 12 tribes of Israel).

Chapter 14 Questions & Answers - Earthquake had been saved/born-again at age 15 when he died and went to hell. Many years later after living a good Christian life, Earthquake died again and went to hell again. Only his mother's prayers and his destiny rescued him. There are many born-again persons including pastors who are now in hell - permanently. Reread Matthew 7:21-23.
A number of pastors including Earthquake believe that Jonah's spirit was in Sheol/hell 3 days, the same as Christ. Those who visit hell are anxious to avoid returning and are definitely fanatical about warning others - for good reason. Take time to reread the book of Job! In Abban's night travels once an angel provided a lit candle to provide light.
Abban blessed an apple which when eaten healed a dumb man of his disease.
Abban prayed in the name of the Trinity and God provided a paralyzed man with a (new or restored) hand and foot.

They set out on Christmas Day for the dump at Juarez where two warring communities of the poorest of the poor scavenged for discarded metal scraps and bottles to resell to recyclers.
