Genesis 32:24-32 NIV - Jacob was left alone.  There wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.  When He saw that He prevailed not against him, He touched the hollow of his thigh.  The hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as He wrestled with him.  He said, "Let  Me go, for the day breaks."  He said, "I will not let You go, except You bless me."  He said to him, "What is you name?"  He said, "Jacob."  He said, "Your name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel, for as a prince you have power with God and with men, and have prevailed.  Jacob asked Him, "Tell me, I pray You, Your name."  He said, "Why is it that you do ask after My name?"  He blessed him there.  Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: (meaning) for I have seen God face to face and my life is preserved. As he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him.  He halted (limped) upon his thigh.  Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, to this day, because He touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh  in the sinew that shrank.

I Chronicles 10:4 - Saul took his sword and fell on it. (Suicide)
1 Chronicles 10:13 - Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the Lord. (Spiritual insight: Saul did not repent.)

2 Chronicles 12:7 - When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, this word of the Lord came to Shemaiah:
"Since they have humbled themselves, I will not destroy them, but will soon give them deliverance."
2nd Chronicles 16:12-13 NIV - In the 39th year of his reign Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. 
Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the Lord, but only from the physicians. Then in the 41st  year of his reign Asa died and rested with his fathers.
2 Chronicles 21:10,12,14,15 - Because Jehoram had forsaken the Lord, the God of his fathers...Jehoram received a letter from Elijah the prophet, which said, "This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says, 'Now the Lord is about to strike your people, your sons, your wives and everything that is yours, with a heavy blow.  Your yourself will be very ill with a lingering disease of the bowels, until the disease causes your bowels to come out.'"
(Scriptural insight: God allowed Jehoram's enemies, the Philistines and the Arabs, to invade and conquer.)
(God allowed Satin to attack his body unto death.  Note however that God gave Jehoram 2 years, possibly to repent and get right with God.) (God shows a connection between sin and disease/tragedy in this biography.) (See book of Job-Chapter-1/)
2 Chronicles 30:15 - The Lord harkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people. 
2nd Chronicles 30:19-20 - Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, "The good Lord pardon every one that prepares his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his father,s though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary, and the Lord hearkened to Hezekiah and healed the people.
2nd Chronicles 32:31 - God withdrew from him, in order to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.

Psalm 19:12-13 - Who can understand his (own) errors?  Cleanse me from secret (unrecognized/unconfessed) faults.  Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me.  Then I shall be blameless and innocent of great transgression (and free from it's consequences).

Proverbs 3:11 discipline

1st Samuel 2:34-35 NIV - What happens to your 2 sons, Hophni and Phinehas. will be a sign to you (,Eli) - they will both die on the same day.  I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in My heart and mind.  I will firmly establish his house, and he will minister before My anointed One always.

Job 1:6-12 KJV - There was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.  The Lord said to Satan, "Where do you come from?"  Satan answered the Lord, "From going to and fro in the earth, and from  walking up and down in it."  The Lord said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and upright man, one that fears God and eschews (shuns) evil?"  Satan answered the Lord and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing (no reason)?  Have You not made on every side a hedge about  him, his house, and all that he has?  You have bless the work of his hands; his substance is increased in the land.  Put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has.  He will curse You to Your face."  The Lord said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power.  Only put not your hand upon him."  So, Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.
Job 2:1-10 KJV - Again, there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves the Lord.  Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord.  The Lord said to Satan, "From where (do) you come?"  Satan answered the Lord, "From  going to and fro in the earth and from waling up and down in it.  The Lord said to Satan, "Have you  considered  My servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and upright man, one that fears God and eschews evil?  Still he holds fast his integrity, although you moved (incited) Me against him, to destroy him without cause."  Satan answered the Lord and said, "Skin for skin; yes, all that a man has will he give for his life.  Put forth Your hand now; touch his bone and flesh, and he will curse You to Your face."  The Lord said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your hand, but save his life."  (See 2nd Corinthians 12:7) So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to his crown.  He took a potsherd (piece of broken pottery) to scrape himself and sat down among the ashes.  Then his wife said to him, "Do you still retain your integrity?  Curse God and die."  He said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speak.  What; shall we receive good at the hand of God and not receive evil?"  In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
Job 42:10 KJV - The Lord turned (back/reversed) the captivity of Job, when he (Job) prayed for his friends (misguided counselors).  The Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Job 42:16 KJV - After this Job lived 140 years and saw his sons and sons' sons, even (to the) 4(th) generations. Job died, being old and full of days. (Spiritual insight: Satan is a legalist.  He may present a case against us and win, if he has legal grounds.)

Ezekiel 54:2,4 KJV - Woe be to the shepherds...The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken.

Matthew 26:36-39 TLB in Kwikscan - 36Jesus brought them to a garden grove, Gethsemane, and told them to sit down and wait while He went on ahead to pray  37He took Peter with Him and Zebedee's 2 sons, James and John, and began to be filled with anguish and despair.  38Then He told them, "My soul is crushed with horror and sadness to the point of death.  Stay here.  Stay awake with Me."  39He went forward a little and fell face downward on the ground and prayed, "My Father!  If it is possible, let this cup be taken away from Me.  But I want Your will, not Mine."

Mark 7:23 KJV - Evil things come from within and defile the man.  [DEFILEMENT from things in common with our spiritual enemy: inherited iniquities, not yet under Jesus' blood, unrepented sins, wrong soul deposits/layers not yet loosed, holy opposites/replacements not yet bound to our soul, and soul layers (given to wrong/divorced sexual partners) not yet retrieved.  Soul defilement ATTRACTS like kind of trouble, like a red flag to a charging bull.]

Luke 13:1-5 NIV - There were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.  Jesus answered, "Do you think these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way?  I tell you, no!  Unless you repent, you too will all perish.  Do you thing those 18 who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem?  I tell you, no!  Unless you repent, you too will all perish."

John 9:1-7 KJV - As Jesus passed by He saw a man who was blind from birth.   His disciples asked Him, "Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?"  (Note, even the disciples knew about family curses arising from sin.) Jesus answered, "Neither has this man sinned, nor his parents, but (the only reason being is) that the works of God should be made manifest in him.  I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day.  The night comes, when no man can work.  As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."  When He had thus spoken, He spit on the  ground, made clay of the spit, anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, and said to him, "Go wash in the pool of Siloam (meaning Sent)."  He went, washed, and came (back) seeing.

John 11: 1-14 KJV - A certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.  (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)  Therefore his sisters sent to (for) Him, saying, "  Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.  When Jesus heard that, He said, "This sickness is not to death, but (is) for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be thereby glorified."
John 11: 11 KJV - He said to them, "Our friend Lazarus sleeps; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep."
John 11: 39-44 KJV - Jesus said, "Take away the stone."  Martha, the sister of him that was dead, said to Him, "Lord, by this time he stinks, for he has been dead 4 days."  Jesus said to her, "(Did I not) say to you, that, if you would BELIEVE, you should see the glory of God?"  Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid.  Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.  I know that You hear Me always, but because of the people which stand by,  I say it, that they may believe that You have sent Me."  When He had thus spoken, He cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth."  He that was dead came forth.

Acts 9:3-12 KJV - As he journeyed, he came near Damascus.  Suddenly there shone round around him a light from heaven.  He fell to earth and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?"  He said, "Who are You. Lord?"  The Lord said, "I am Jesus Whom you persecute.  It is hard for you to kick against the pricks."  Trembling and astonished, he said, "Lord, what will You have me do?"  The Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city.  It shall be told (to) you what you must do."  The men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.  Saul arose from the earth.  When his eyes were opened, he saw no man.  They led him by the hand and brought him to Damascus.  He was 3 days without sight.  Neither did he eat or drink.  There was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias.  To him the Lord said in a vision, "Ananias."  He said, "Behold, I am here, Lord."  The Lord said to him, "Arise and go to the street which is called Straight.  Inquire in the house of Judas  for one called Saul of Tarsus.  Behold he prays and has seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight."
Acts 9:15-16 TNAB - 15The Lord said to him (Ananias)...16I Myself shall indicate to him (Saul/Paul) how much he will have to suffer for My name.' (Spiritual insight: Suffering for Christ's purposes is NOT the same as our secular/non-spiritual suffering.  If we suffer FOR Him, it is of His origination/permission/purposes and NOT of ours or of Satan's initiation.)

Romans 1:28 KJV - They did not like to retain God in their knowledge.  God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
Romans 7:14-25 NIV - The law is spiritual, but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.  I do not understand what I do.  What I want to do, I do not.  What I hate, I do.  If I do what I do NOT want to do, I agree that the law is good.  As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin (evil spirit and my consenting soul) living in me.  I know that nothing good lives in me (that is, in my sinful nature). I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.  What I do is NOT the good I want to do.  No, the evil I do NOT want to do - this I keep on doing.  Now if I do what I do NOT want to do, it is no longer I who do it; but it is the sin living in me that does it.  I find this law at work:  When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.  In my inner being (my heart and spirit) I delight in god's law.  I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.  What a wretched man I am.  Who will rescue me from this body of death?  Thank be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of  sin.
Romans 8:1-4 NIV - Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the (Holy) Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.  What the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God  did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.  He condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. 
Romans 8:14-39 NIV - Those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.  You did NOT receive a(n evil) spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the (Holy) Spirit of sonship.  By Him we cry, "Abba, Father."  The Spirit Himself testifies with our (human) spirit  that we are God's children.  If we are (His) children, then we are heirs (heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ) if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory. 
18I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.  The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.  Creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the One Who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.  We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.  Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the (Holy) Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies (and souls/mind).  In this hope we are saved.  Hope that is seen is no hope at all.  Who hopes for what he already has?  If we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently...
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.  We do not know what we ought to pray for,   but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.  He Who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.  We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.  Those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among may brothers.  Those He predestined, He also called.  Those He called He also justified.  Those He justified, He also glorified... 
What then shall we say in  response to this?  If God is for us, who can be against us?  He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all - How will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?  Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?  It is God Who justifies.  Who is he that condemns?  Christ Jesus, Who died, more than that, Who was raised to life, is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ.  Shall  trouble or hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, or sword?  As it is written, "For Your sake we face death all day long.  We are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."  No.  In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us.  I am convinced that neither death nor life, angels nor demons, the present nor the future, nor any powers, height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hebrews 12:5-11 KJVer - 5My son, despise not you the (rough/uncomfortable) chastening (mentoring/tutoring/ afflictions/instructing/educating/teaching/consequences due to your disobedience) of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked of Him.  6Whom the Lord loves He chastens (punishes/disciplines/corrects) and scourges (whips/spanks - even Jesus Christ our substitute/propitiation/atonement) every son whom He receives.  7If you endure chastening (reprimands), God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not?  8If you be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are you illegitimate children and not sons.  9Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us and we gave them reverence.  Shall we not much rather be in subjection (submission) to the Father of spirits and live?"  10They verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure (manner/wisdom/skill/judgment); but He for our profit, that we might be partakers of His  holiness.  11No chastening for the present seems to be joyous, but (rather/instead) grievous.  Nevertheless, afterward, it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to them which are exercised (disciplined/trained) thereby.  (Spiritual insight = Our parents do not give us a disease or harm, but rather a rebuke/admonishment so that we may be safe and also mature/learn from our mistakes.)

James 5:13 KJVer - 13Is any among you afflicted (due to his/her testimony for Christ)?  Let him pray.
James 5:14-16 KJVer - 14Is any sick among you?  Let him call for the elders of the church; let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.  15The prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise him up.  If he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.  16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed.

1st Peter 1:6-7 - In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.  These have come so that your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is reveraled.
1st Peter 5:10 KJV - "Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered (abused/tortured/maligned for their testimony to Christ) a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you."

Revelation 7:14-17 TLB in Kwisk - 14"These are the ones coming out of the Great Tribulation," he said. "They washed their robes and whitened (bleached/purified/disinfected) them by the blood of the Lamb.  15That is why they are here before the throne of God, serving Him day and night in His temple.  The One sitting on the throne will shelter them.  16They will never be hungry again, nor thirsty, and they  will be fully protected from the scorching noontime heat. 17For the Lamb standing in front (center/at the heart) of the throne will feed them and be their Shepherd and lead them to the springs of the Water of Life.  And God will wipe their tears away."

Commentary

A speck of dirt/irritant/pollutant/contaminant can begin the formation of a snowflake or a pearl.  The microscopic air particles mingle with the falling moisture, turning H20 into snowflakes.  The sand gets into the shell of a clam/oyster resulting in a pearl being manufactured as a defense system to protect the irritant from harming the mollusk.  When we repent and receive His forgiveness, then God can cover up/mend/repair our mistakes and turn them into precious things.  He can recycle our badness/hurt and turn it into good, whereas the enemy intended it to ruin/harm/destroy us and others.

God allows 3 types of thoughts to travel across our minds - His, ours, and Satan's.  Therefore, it may be that He also allows disease to attack our bodies.  HOWEVER, as with thoughts, we can, in the name of Jesus, refuse and reject them.  Think of the cancer patients.  Many of them are taught to visualize their white blood corpuscles eating up the cancer cells.  It does work, for those who believe, especially those who believe in His power.  Satan would much prefer to attack and destroy a child of God than a nonbeliever.  So do not be dismayed, if or when you are under attack.  The greater the attack, the greater the threat you must be to God.  Now isn't that an inspiration!  Hang in there - with God.  Don't quit.  God and you are a majority.  In Training Camp for the Army of God Norvel Hayes reminds us of the testimony of Betty Baxter born crippled.  For 14 years her mom testified that God would heal her daughter.  Not a single person stood by her side in agreement - except God.  Tenacity!

Why would God ALLOW (NOT cause) extreme hurt/suffering.  Because they are fixable (by doctors and also by Doctor Jesus) and temporary (if not when we are alive then in heaven).  That is why He allowed His son Jesus to suffer on the cross.  We can choose or reject God's healing miracles.  We do NOT ask Him to fix us, because He did that 2,000 years ago.  Rather He is now expecting us to speak to mountains/problems, in the name of His son Jesus!  If we are not double minded + are tenacious, He will act as we speak - with audacity, not timidly, and do NOT back down when we do NOT see physical evidence, but rather stand on His Word/promises.

When Bad Things Happen to Good Children due to Parental Commission/Omission

There are multitudes of considerations.  Sometimes a parent makes a wrong choice [to stay with a mate/date and the mate/date (deliberately or under the influence) abuses the child).  During world war 2, many Jews could not bear to separate from their children and took them with them to be slaughtered by the Nazis, rather than gamble an unguaranteed rescue by complete strangers.  Sometimes those parents knew of the encroaching  danger, but cared more about protecting their businesses than their families.  God planned before the foundation of the earth that His Son would be the crucified sacrificial lamb for the sins of those individuals who sincerely repented.  We in cahoots with Satan slew the Messiah, while God looked the other way.  Father God, in Your Son Jesus' name, we enlist our guardian angels to prevent our inadvertently harming our own children.  We enlist the guardian angels of our children to protect them against all evil, even against the wiles of the enemy at our own hand.  Lord, let us not force them to be doctors when you want them to be dancers.  Lord, forbid that we would interfere in their destinies for which they were created.  Lord, let us not forbid marriages made in heaven.  Lord, let us not get in Your way.  Lord we repent for all those sins of commission and omission (eg, being silent when we need to speak up).  Lord, we accept your forgiveness.  We ask of You to make right those wrongs and to reveal to us when and where we can make any amends, if not to them, then to their children or mates.  Thanks, Lord.  Finally Lord, with your help, we forgive both our parents for all those errors, sins and omissions which hurt us.  We bless You with a grateful heart.  In Jesus name.  Amen.    

Death Allowed by God

Remember, God "allowed" the death of His own Son, Jesus Christ.  It was His "permissive" will not His "perfect" will.  God made fertilizer out of that tragedy and grew up some awesome wonderful consequences.  God used shit and made perfume out of it.

Having gone through a prayer line and not been healed then one may need to do the following: 
1. Confess any sins to church elders (who must never reveal sins) and be prayed for/over by elders.
2. Tithe their 10% to God.
3. Attend regularly a church/fellowship which expects to see the Holy Spirit working miracles through its attendees.
4. Make sure you are right with God and
    a. Have asked Jesus to forgive all your sins and be your Savior and Lord
    b. Have been water baptized
    c. Have asked for the baptism of the Holy Spirit
    d. Pray regularly in tongues
    e. Are not knowingly offending God
    f. Are reading your Bible regularly
    g. Are praying regularly
    h. Are not refusing to forgive someone
    i. Are not calling your suffering, good for the glory of God. This is a lie of Satan.
    j. Are not waiting for God's time.  Now is the appointed time.
    k. Have faith (not hope) and immediate obedience to His Voice.
    l. remember that your healing may be gradual rather than instant.
Take God at His word.  Accept your healing as an (already) accomplished fast...It was accomplished...on the day that Jesus atoned for your sins.  It was not accomplished today - but it is accepted today, and is effective in your life, as you follow the instructions of the Word of God for you deliverance...until you are in perfect health."

Banks, Bill - Deliverance from Childlessness - Volume 4 of Power for Deliverance Series - Part 3 - Roots of Darkness - Underlying Spiritual Roots & Doorways  indicates there are 5 types  of curses (1) Righteous (2) Unrighteous (3) Contamination (4) Spoken, Self-fulfilling (5) Vows.  The righteous curse is the result of the Old Testament law being satisfied by the consequence (punishment).  In parenting, a rule would be, "Let the punishment fit the crime."  That is called justice and educational discipline.  It is love, but not mercy.  Jesus brought mercy.

"When a teacher 'instructs' his student, he may  employ various means of discipline, but never sickness.  When a father 'trains' his child, he chastens by different means, but never by imposing a physical disease upon him.  For our Heavenly Father to 'chasten' us, does not require that He lay a disease upon us."  (Remember it was Satan, not God, who slew Job's children.  It was Satan, not God who made boils to appear on Job's skin.  Even so, this was done prior to Christ's redemption on the cross.  Nonetheless, God's nature never changes.  Job never sinned and Job continued in God's favor, for better or worse, just as it ought to be in a marriage.  In due time God did rescue Job.)  "Our diseases were laid upon Christ.  God could NOT require that we bear, as punishment, what Jesus has (already) substitutionally borne for us.  Christ's sacrifice frees us FOREVER from the curse of sin AND disease which He bore for us."

Prince, Derek - Rules of Engagement - www.derekprince.com - Prince reminds us of scriptural examples of afflictions allowed by God.  In Exodus 4:24-26 NKJV after Moses had been commissioned to free the Hebrews (Jews) from being held as slaves by the Egyptians, "the Lord met him and sought to kill him.  Then Zipporah (his wife) took a sharp stone and cut off the foreskin of her son and cast it at Moses' feet and said, 'surely you are a husband of blood to me.'  So He (the Lord) let him go.  The she said, 'You are a husband of blood!' - because of the (required Jewish) circumcision."  Moses (at age 80) was disobedient.  He had not fulfilled the covenant sacrament/ritual of circumcision on his son at 8 days of age.  Even though he had been raised as a Gentile and may not have known the synagogue's/church's rules, he was NOT exempt.  Ignorance is NEVER an excuse.  Violation of any of God's spiritual laws brings a curse - always, especially for those who oversee others.  Here we see that God wanted to strike out at Moses, the father, rather than at the son...
2nd, Moses' disobedience would have become a root cause of any subsequent family curse...Sometimes God allows a family curse/sin consequence to follow forgiven sins.  There could be a number of reasons. Perhaps a root cause (such as pride, lust, power, self-sufficiency, etc) has not been dealt with?  God through Nathan said to King David in
2nd Samuel 12:10-14 NJKV "'10The sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me and taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.'  11Thus says the Lord, 'Behold, I will raise up adversity against you from your own house.  I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor.  He shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.  12You did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.'"

FAILURE to CONTEND

COMMENTARY -  Besides one's ignorance of his royalty rights and kingly assets, a huge reason why God's children do NOT receive their (spiritual/worldly) inheritance (healings/deliverances/salvations), is due to failure to CONTEND.  Moses had to contend with Pharaoh for the Hebrew slaves to leave Egypt.  The Israelites had to contend with the occupants of Canaan, which was already deeded to them by God.  Many Americans have been fed with "a silver spoon" and are clueless/oblivious to the sacrifices, costs, and responsibilities inherent in their blessings, to which they are so accustomed.
Satan and his gang are sort of like the local school bully (the pit-bull from the pit of hell with a lot of bull shit talk, in other words, a lot of toothless intimidation).  If or when we stand our ground, the enemy has to back off or flee, because Jesus our Lord already won the contest when He died and rose on our behalf and sits in power at the right hand of God (where we also are seated, if we take time to notice).

PRAYER: As much as I moan and groan under the tyranny of our diseases and misfortunes and oppressions, life is an adventure of learning that I am delighted and grateful to receive from these winds of trouble; and like the tree under stress and storms, would not have grown properly or quickly nor well, especially not matured spiritually, without such maladies.  Thank you Father God, brother/husband/doctor Yeshua, and professor/counselor/comforter Holy Spirit.  Nonetheless, I enlist the help of my army host and all other holy heavenly help to stand/contend against anything NOT in alignment with the 3rd heaven and to receive delivereance, healing, health, sound mind from the Trinity available to me, right now, in Jesus' name.
