Baptism of Suffering
and martyrdom
(passion in English is translated as pati in Latin meaning to
suffer)
Scripture
Genesis 4:10-11 Alexander Harkavy 10He said, "What
hast thou done? The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto Me from the
ground. 11Now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth
to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand."
Psalm 22:24 KJVer
He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted.
Neither has he hid His face from him. When he cried to Him, He heard.
My Praise shall be of You in the great congregation.
Psalm 56:8 NIV
Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll. Are they not in Your
record
(bottle)?
Matthew 10:28
Do NOT be afraid of those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul.
Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both the soul and body in
hell.
Matthew 10:39
Jesus said, "He who loses his life for My sake will find
it."
Matthew 11:12 KJV From the days
of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence
(from the enemy of God). The violent
(men empowered with the Holy Spirit) take (rescue)
it by force
(from the enemy of God).
Matthew 20:22-23
Jesus answered and said, "You know not what you ask. Are
you able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of and to be baptized with the
baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to Him, "We are able."
He said to them, "You shall drink indeed of My cup and be baptized with the
baptism that I am baptized." (This scripture precedes the Palm Sunday
chapter.)
Matthew 26:36, 39 Jesus went with His
disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and He said to them, "Sit here while I
go over there and pray." Going a little farther, He fell with His face to
the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from
Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will." (This scripture
precedes the arrest and subsequent death of Jesus.)
Matthew 27:46 KJV About the 9th hour
Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli,
Eli, Imana sabachthani."("My God, My
God, for this I was kept" is an Aramaic/Arabic idiom meaning, This was my
destiny; I was born for this.
Aramaic Scripture from New
Testament)
Mark 10:29-30 TPNT 29Jesus said, "Truly
I say to you, there is no one who left (voluntarily behind or were
abducted from) house or brothers or sisters or
mother or father or children or farms because of Me and because of the
Good News, 30who
would not take (receive)100 times as
much now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children
and farms, with persecutions, and in the coming age eternal life."
Mark 14:32-36 TNAB
32They came to a place named Gethsemane; He
said to His disciples, "Sit here while I pray."
33He took with Him Peter, James and
John and began to be troubled and distressed. 34Then
He said to them, "My soul is sorrowful even to
death. Remain here and keep watch." 35He
advanced a little and fell to the ground and prayed, that if it were possible
the hour might pass by Him. 36He
said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to You.
Take this cup away from Me, but mot what I will, but what You will."
Luke 22:39-46 TNAB 39Then
going out He went, as was His custom, to the Mount of Olives; His disciples
followed Him. 40When He
arrived at the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may
not undergo the test." 41After
withdrawing about a stone's throw from them and kneeling, He prayed, 42saying, "Father, if
You are willing, take this cup away from Me; still, not My will but Yours be
done." 43[To strengthen
Him an angel from heaven appeared to Him. 44He
was in such agony and He prayed so fervently that His sweat became like drops of
blood falling on the ground.]
45When He rose from prayer and returned to His disciples,
He found them sleeping from grief. 46He
said to them, "Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray
that you may not undergo the test."
Acts 5:40-41 NIV 40They
called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them NOT to
speak in the name of Jesus, and let hem go. 41The
apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy
of suffering disgrace for the Name.
Acts 9:16 TNAB "(Ananias,)
I (Jesus) will show him what he
(Saul/Paul) will have to suffer for My name."
Acts 14:22-23 KJVer We must go through
much tribulation to enter into the kingdom of God. When
(after) they had ordained them elders in every church and
had prayed with fasting, they (then/next) commended them
to the Lord, on (in) Whom they believed.
Romans 8:14-23 NIV Those who are led by the
Spirit of God are sons of God. You did NOT receive a(n evil)
spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the (Holy)
Spirit of sonship. By Him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit Himself
testifies with our (human) spirit that we are God's children. If we
are (His) children, then we are heirs (heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ) if
indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His
glory. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth
comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits
in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. Creation was
subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the One Who
subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its
bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth
right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the
first-fruits of the (Holy) Spirit, groan inwardly as we
wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies (and
souls/mind).
Romans 8:31-39 TNAB 31If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He Who did not spare His own Son but
handed Him over for us all, how will He not also give us everything else along
with Him? 33Who will bring a charge against God's
chosen ones? It is God Who acquits us. 34Who will condemn? It is Christ
[Jesus] Who died, rather, was raised, Who also is at the right hand of God, Who
indeed intercedes for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of
Christ? Shall trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness,
danger or sword? 36As it is written
(in Psalm 44), "For Your sake we are being slain
all the day; we are look upon as sheep to be slaughtered." 37No, in all these things we conquer
overwhelmingly through Him Who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death,
life, angels, principalities, present things, future things, powers, 39height, depth, nor any other
(evil) creature will be able to separate us from the love of God
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
2nd Corinthians 1:3-5 NIV 3Praise
be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and
the God of all comfort, 4Who
(through the Holy Spirit) comforts us in our troubles, so that we
can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received
from God. 5For just as the
sufferings of Christ ('s persecution continue to) flow
over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
2nd Corinthians 5:21 TPNT He (Father God) made the One (Jesus) Who
did not know sin to be sin
(on the cross) on our behalf, so that we ourselves would know the
righteousness of God by means of Him.
2nd Corinthians 12
Philippians 3:10 KJV I may know Him, the
power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being
made conformable to His death, if by any means I might attain to the
resurrection of the dead.
Hebrews 2:10 NIV In bringing many (spiritual/adopted/saved/forgiven) sons to glory, it was fitting
that God, for Whom and through Whom everything exists, should make the Author of
their (my/our) salvation perfect through suffering.
Hebrews 5:7 TNAB In the days when He was (alive)
in the flesh, He offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to
the One Who was able to save Him from death; (afterward/after His death)
He was heard (answered/rescued) because of His reverence.
Hebrews 5:8 KJV Though He was the Son (of God),
He (His human nature) learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
Hebrews 12:4 You have not yet resisted to
blood (martyrdom), striving against sin.
Hebrews 12:5-11 KJVer 5My
son, despise not you the (rough/uncomfortable) chastening
(mentoring/tutoring/
afflictions/instructing/educating/teaching/consequences due to your
disobedience) of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked of Him.
6Whom the Lord loves He chastens
(punishes/disciplines/corrects) and scourges
(whips/spanks - even Jesus Christ our substitute/propitiation/atonement)
every son whom He receives. 7If
you endure chastening (reprimands), God deals with you as
with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not? 8If you be without chastisement,
whereof all are partakers, then are you illegitimate children and not sons.
9Furthermore, we have had fathers of
our flesh which corrected us and we gave them reverence. Shall we not much
rather be in subjection (submission) to the Father of
spirits and live?" 10They
verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure
(manner/wisdom/skill/judgment); but He for our profit, that we
might be partakers of His holiness. 11No
chastening for the present seems to be joyous, but (rather/instead)
grievous. Nevertheless, afterward, it yields the peaceable
fruit of righteousness to them which are exercised (disciplined/trained)
thereby. (Spiritual insight = Our parents do not
give us a disease or harm, but rather a rebuke/admonishment so that we may be
safe and also mature/learn from our mistakes.)
James 1:2-3 2Consider
(count) it pure joy, my brothers, whenever
you face trials (diverse temptations/tests) of many kinds,
3because you know that the testing of your faith
develops perseverance (patience)."
James 5:13 KJVer 13Is
any among you afflicted (due to his/her
testimony for Christ)? Let him pray.
1st Peter 4:12-16 NIV 12Do NOT be surprised at the
painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were
happening to you. 13Rejoice, that you participate in the sufferings
of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed. 14If
you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit
of glory and of God rests on you. 15If you suffer,
it should NOT be as a murderer, thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as
a meddler. 16If you suffer as a Christian, do not be
ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.
1st Peter 5:10 KJV "Christ Jesus, after that ye have
suffered (abused/tortured/maligned for your testimony to Christ)
a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle
you."
Revelation 1:9 KJV I, John, who also am
your brother and companion in tribulation (suffering for
the gospel) and in the kingdom, and patience of Jesus
Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God and for the
testimony of Jesus Christ. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day and
heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying, "I am Alpha and Omega,
the 1st and last."
Revelation 2:10 "Be faithful until death
and I will give you the crown of life." (Christ's death was
not for His own benefit. His death was a substitute guilt offering for us,
entitling us to get a free ticket into heaven.)
2nd Timothy 2:12 KJV If we suffer (for
Christ), we shall also reign with Him.

Chapter 1 "Jesus was NOT persecuted while He remained in the
carpenter shop at Nazareth. But the moment He started to do mighty things,
He was called the 'prince of devils,' and there were many attempts to destroy
His life (See Luke 4:29)."
"Peter was a 'good fellow' as long as he was a mere fisherman, but when he
healed the lame man, they threw him in jail (See Acts 3:7, 4:3)."
"You will NOT encounter much opposition or persecution as long as you are just a
'normal (nominal) Christian.' But when you accept God's promises for your
life and begin to do the UNUSUAL, persecution will come!"
Chapter 2 The Disciple IS Not Above His Master
Fasting and "persistent habitual prayer...is the cause - miracles the
result...If the disciple could attain the same results as Jesus did without
paying the same price, the disciples would be greater than his master...
The student of Jesus Christ CANNOT become greater than his teacher. He
cannot learn anything Jesus does not know. He cannot find a shortcut to
(Holy/healing/miracle/deliverance) power with God."
Chapter 7 The Cross "Charles G Finney left a promising law practice
to enter the ministry - an untried field for which he had no special training.
He took up His cross. However, just taking up the cross is not enough.
It must be taken up DAILY...Christ never took a vacation...The cross went with
Him even on vacation...The cross was not an accident which befell Him at the end
of life...There was never a day that He would say, 'This day is My own. I
will go about My Father's business again tomorrow.'"

(apprenticeship) for creating rank in the Bridehood for His eternal

only in the school of suffering, even after the new birth and the filling with
the Holy Spirit.""

Chapter 14 Preaching to a Growing Church shares that
we should never suffer for personal sin, sickness, the devil, a curse, or
poverty, but only for the sake of the gospel, because of persecution.
Christ removed/took care of man's problems at the cross. Any suffering
that does not bring any redeeming/spiritual
(salvation/deliverance/healing/etc) result, especially for
others, causes nothing but affliction/trauma.

Chapter 4 Rhema shares that one's suffering can be
"God-appointed" if it blesses others, especially into the kingdom of God; but if
your suffering "starts to destroy you, then this is from Satan, and you
should pray through and rid yourself of it...Always focus through the lens of
the uppermost goal, the redeeming of souls. If you see that
your suffering brings abut more redemption than your healing, then do not
ask for deliverance; but ask God to give you strength to persevere."

Chapter 5 Believers and the Holy Spirit reminds us that Penticost made
the difference between the disciples remembering +
understanding Jesus' teachings and between remaining discouraged, bewildered and
impotent to serve God.
"The Holy Spirit did not lead Jesus to be tempted so as to destroy Him.
This temptation of the devil was (allowed) only to
discipline Him. Likewise, the Holy Spirit is with us and teaches us - both
when we sense the wonderful grace and truth of God and when we feel as if we
have been deserted." Remember, Christ "felt in His human
flesh/mind/emotions" that God had abandoned Him on the cross. Human flesh is Not
a discerner/perceiver of truth.
Our human spirit is tutored/mentored by the Holy Spirit daily as we
permit/woo/worship/listen to Him. Our human spirit (the
part of us that has eternal life when we ask Jesus to be our savior)
receives what insights the Holy Spirit gives us and transmits it to our other
human parts (flesh/mind/ emotions).
Heart_Mind_Will "The spiritual teaching of the Holy Spirit is in
progress naturally, in every field of our human will, feelings and intelligence.
Through our will and emotions, the Holy Spirit brings us into the likeness of
Christ." Let us never "belittle or neglect to live out the teachings
of the Holy Spirit that we receive through real-life tests and experiences as
well as through the Word." God's Holy Spirit "school has neither holiday
nor vacation."

James the Just was thrown down 100 feet and then clubbed to death; Matthias plus
James the Greater (with his new convert, a Roman officer) were beheaded;
Bartholomew (Nathaniel) was martyred by whipping; Thomas

"2. O how inexpressibly great is the loss sustained by mankind from the neglect
of the interior life! And what an account will those have to render who are
entrusted with the care of souls, and have not discovered and communicated to
their flock this hidden treasure!
3. Some excuse themselves by saying, that there is danger in this way, or that
simple persons are incapable of comprehending the things of the Spirit. But the
oracles of truth affirm the contrary: "The Lord loveth those who walk
simply." (Prov. xii. 22, vulg.) But what danger can there be in walking in
the only true way, which is Jesus Christ, giving ourselves up to Him, fixing our
eye continually on Him, placing all our confidence in his grace, and tending
with all the strength of our soul to his purest love?4. The simple ones, so far
from being incapable of this perfection, are, by their docility, innocence, and
humility, peculiarly qualified for its attainment; and, as they are not
accustomed to reasoning, they are less tenacious of their own opinions. Even
from their want of learning, they submit more freely to the teachings of the
divine Spirit; whereas others, who are cramped and blinded by self-sufficiency,
offer much greater resistance to the operations of grace."

Were we really concerned with His glory? Could we truly say, 'Father,

The payer of relinquishment was what God was longing to hear from our lips.
His grace was made available. We each prayed out loud, using the other as
a witness, and we relinquished our lives to Him....When death to self has taken
place, public humiliation is not difficult to bear. Identification with
the Savior, Who in His humiliation was denied even justice, was a very real

Chapter 8 Why Do the Righteous Suffer? "There are many in
the healing ministry who insist that Paul did not have a physical sickness, that
he was referring to his persecutions and trials of faith. However, in the
Book of Galatians he specifically said that it was because of 'a bodily ailment'
that he stayed with them to preach the Gospel and reminded these people that
they would have gladly plucked out their eyes and given them to him, if it were
possible. And when speaking of the 'thorn in the flesh,' he called it an
infirmity and so did the Lord. This is the very same word in the
Greek language that is used in Matthew 8:17, where Isaiah 53:4 is
quoted, 'He took our infirmities (sicknesses)
and bore our diseases,' to say that Jesus fulfilled this when He healed all
the sick in Peter's house."
Sin is deal with in the next verse.
Isaiah 53:5 (KJVer)
He was wounded
(physically) for our transgressions. He was bruised
(pierced) for our
iniquities (rebellion/sin). The chastisement of our peace was upon Him and with
(by) His
stripes
(wounds/ whipping)) we ARE healed
(physically). Benny Hinn explains that the
front of the cross/Jesus is for the eradication of sin, while the back of the
cross/Jesus is for the eradication of disease/infirmity.

Many quote Psalm 34:19 KJV "Many are the afflictions of the righteous."
"This does NOT mean sicknesses as some would have us believe. It means
trials, hardships, persecutions, temptations, etc., but never (disease,
meaning) sicknesses or physical disabilities (due to
inheritance or injury)." In scripture
the question is, "Who has done this? Who has sown these weeds? Who
or what has caused this disaster? Who can we blame for this
disease/problem?" The answer was and is, "The enemy (Satan) has done
this." Not God! God may have given Satan permission as He did to Job.
In Job's instance, each tragedy was a spiritual test. Abram had a
spiritual test when asked to kill his son Isaac. Jesus had a spiritual
test in the dessert. These tests were temporary, not lifelong; perhaps
because they passed the test. Those who wandered 40 years in the desert,
never did pass the tests, never did learn.

(Daily Meditations from the Ministry of Watchman Nee,

Exodus 32:29 - Consecrate yourselves today to the Lord...that He may

personal consecration of ourselves to God, over and above our consecration to
Him at the time we accept what Jesus did for us on the cross. Nee teaches
a consecration that excludes any work we may do for the Lord. It is a
personal relationship, like that of a wedding, compared to an earlier bridal
engagement, as at salvation. Engagements often have one ring for the
finger of the bride-to-be. At weddings there is often a second ring for
the bride. Nee teaches a consecration to the "will of God." During
many marriage vows we say that we will marry our mate for better or worse, in
sickness until death. It is a life commitment. If you make such a
consecration, mark the date in your Bible; then renew that commitment each year.

5th Priestly Immersion of
Suffering
http://www.hearoisrael.org/uploads/MIKVEH_or_BAPTISM.pdf
"the 5th 'immersion' - The one that we would all just rather forget; the
'Immersion of Suffering'.
As Yahshua was going to Yerushalayim to offer Himself up, we read in Mattityahu
(Matthew) 20: 20-28;
Then the mother of the sons of Zabdai came to Him with her sons, bowing down and
making a request
of Him. And He said to her, 'What do you wish?' She
said to Him, 'Command that these two sons of mine might sit, one on Your right
hand and the other on the left, in Your reign.' But Yahshua answering, said, 'You
do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to
drink, and to be
immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with?'
They said to Him, 'We are able.' And He said to them, '
You shall indeed drink My cup, and you shall be immersed with the immersion that
I am immersed with. But to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to
give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father.'
And when the ten heard it, they were displeased at the two brothers.
But Yahshua called them near and said, 'You know that the
rulers of the gentiles are masters over them, and those who are great exercise
authority over them. But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wishes to
become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever wishes to be first
among you,
let him be your servant, even as the Son of Adam did not come to be served, but
to serve, and to give
His life as a ransom for many.' This is also recorded in Mark 10."

For 99 % of individuals the following would apply. That "God always
answers our prayers with a 'yes', sometimes with a 'no,' and sometimes with a
'wait a while'...is human reasoning and doesn't line up with what the Bible
says.
John 15:7 says, 'If ye abide in Me and My Words abide in
you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.'"
(What this means, for instance, is that if your church doctrine teaches that
suffering is good for you and/or will help you to get into heaven, then such
teaching does NOT line up with Jesus' words and will also speed up your demise,
just what the enemy ordered!
God provided Jesus as our means to accomplish the defeat of premature death,
disease, and mental illness.
When we do not aggressively avail ourselves of His work on the cross, then we,
not He, allow/encourage/enlist our own suffering.)

Suffering precedes the manifestation of Father God's love into our lives and
situations. Do NOT quit, even if it means martyrdom, because it is the
dying to self which opens the door to God. Do not quit working for God.
Do not quit loving your unlovable situation/neighbor/circumstance/family member.
Do not flee disgrace. Run to the cross of Jesus Christ and cling to Him.
His heart will penetrate yours. Soon His light will emanate through you

handed Jesus our lunch and He is multiplying it for the multitudes. Tens of
thousands of people have given their hearts to Jesus in these last weeks! The
deaf have heard, the blind have seen and the poor have heard the Good News. I
don't think I have ever seen such suffering and hunger as I encountered in
the camps in Zambezia.

"Our nation Mozambique has been hammered with floods, cyclones and monster
waves. Pemba, Cabo Delgado, was hit with cholera. Finally a few kilometers from
our Zimpeto children's center in Maputo, a large ammunitions dump blew up,
spraying mines, missiles and shrapnel for thirty kilometers around. Hundreds of
people were killed. Houses were leveled leaving the victims crushed beneath the
rubble. I have never seen such suffering as I have seen in the last
thirty days.
As I stood in the ruins of a house leveled by a missile and held a weeping women
in my arms, I drank of His cup of suffering. As I embraced Marcelina, 14,
Edwardo, 15, and Carvalho, 12, orphaned by the blasts, I drank His cup of
suffering. After driving all day through the mud and potholes of Zambezia to
minister and deliver food to a distant village devastated by floods, I rocked a
tiny, starving baby in my arms and tried to find milk to no avail, and I
drank the cup of His suffering.
After arriving in Caia, a town with a refugee camp on the flooded Zambezi River,
I spoke to the director of a large non-governmental organization as he was
evacuating his workers and helicopters because he could not get past all the
corruption and red tape. I drank of the cup of suffering knowing those
very helicopters could have fed many precious people stranded in the flood zones
starving for weeks. I opened my eyes wider still to see & drink the
cup of suffering."

Ezekiel Sithole, was martyred for the gospel. They cut off his tongue and
lips to silence him. They said our movement, Partners in Harvest/Iris
Africa, would be silenced. Surprise went back into the village in love and
humility releasing forgiveness to those who killed his cousin. Thousands
gathered to hear him preach. And hundreds were saved. Please pray for Pastor
Ezekiel Sithole’s wife who is deeply troubled, very, very thin and left with
many children to raise alone. 'Blessed are you when they revile and persecute
you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be
exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven.' Matthew 5:11-12."

1/21/2009 discussion is that (emotional/physical) pain is (human) preparation
for one's (spiritual) future (wellbeing/ministry/destiny), (once the pain is
healed/redeemed/forgiven).
Another discussion is the revelation that premature death is/can be held against
Satan, especially that by violence/bloodshed/murder,
such as to Christ and to Abel by Cain. Not only that, such blood shed
becomes a seed for future generations. (For instance, the blood shed by
Martin Luther King was the seed for Obama becoming President of the USA on

www.myjwn.com Mike Evans notes,
"Ami Ortiz still has safety pins and screws lodged
in his body. 2 of his toes were severed; his hearing was damaged; he suffered
severe lacerations on his feet and legs; and, he may never be able to fulfill
his dream to play basketball.
Both the Ortiz family and a police informant believe the attack was the
result of the fact that the Ortiz family believe that Jesus was the promised
Messiah. In Ariel, the town where the Ortiz family lives, someone handed out
fliers with a warning that their community had been invaded by people who
believed in Jesus. 2 individuals in black skullcaps such as is worn by
ultra-Orthodox Jews photographed Pastor Ortiz. His photo and home address was
also passed out on a flier in Ariel.
Ami’s family first suspected a Palestinian attack, but police later told them
that the attacker was not Palestinian. The bomb in the package was much more
sophisticated than those used by the PLO.
There are approximately 10,000 Messianic Jews in Israel, but apparently they are
thought to be a threat by at least one individual. According to an article in
USA Today, 'Rabbi Sholom Dov Lifschitz, head of the ultra-Orthodox Yad Leahim
organization that campaigns against missionary activity in Israel, says
Messianic Jews give him ‘great pain. They are provoking...It's a miracle that
worse things don't happen,’ he said. Pastor Ortiz is not Jewish; his wife and
son are. Can you imagine this happening in America and no one speaking out?
Ami’s mother, Leah, wrote: 'We hope that an investigative report will put
sufficient pressure on the police to cause them to finally arrest the
perpetrators. We need to carefully guard our hearts from anger and frustration,
and we must keep on trusting the Lord, because He will reveal the perpetrators
in His time and for His glory. There are indications that the police really are
working, but there is something unrevealed and dark in this whole story which I
believe will be revealed in time.'
I know beyond a doubt that the vast majority of ultra-Orthodox Jews would never
do such a horrible thing. However, we cannot be silent; we cannot just hope it
goes away. Our own history in America reminds us that this same kind of attack
happened to Blacks in America 100 years ago. It should not be a crime to be a
Jewish Christian, just as it should not be a crime to be able to share one’s
faith without fear of retaliation.

chooses sometimes to mature his servants...by putting them in very

"On the way to the store on day, he heard the voice of the Lord
repeating the words, 'I am the way,
the truth, and
the life, no man comes to the Father,
but by Me.' His need for the truth
of his need to the Savior flashed upon him, and in a moment he
accepted Christ. Then he told his brother and others. According to
his father's will he was to forfeit every penny if he ever changed
his (Jewish) religion, but his brother offered to give him
$240,000.00 - his share of the business - if he would cross the USA
and retire in Montana. But Reuben replied, 'I have had the light in
Pittsburgh, and I am going to witness in Pittsburgh'.
Late that Saturday night detectives came and took him to the police
station. On Monday 2 doctors visited his cell and asked him about
the voice he had heard. 2 hours later warders came from the
asylum and took him to a room where there were 29 mentally deranged
people. The bitterness of his situation weighed heavily upon him,
and seemed more than he could bear. So he fell on his knees by his
bed, and poured out his heart to the Lord. He did not know how long
it had been, he seemed to have lost track of time, when a vision
of Calvary appeared. It was as if he witnessed every stage of
the crucifixion. And as he did, he forgot his own suffering in
the sufferings of the Savior. As he gazed on the Cross, the
Master Himself said to him, 'And must I
bear the Cross alone, and all the world
go free?' From a broken heart Reuben answered, 'No.
There's a cross for everyone, and there's a cross for me.'
From that hour he was a new man. Instead of complaining at being in
the asylum, he began to pray for the other 29, and to the Savior he
said, 'Let me suffer for You. Whatever You allow me to go through, I
will never complain again.'
After 2 weeks his brother came to see him, and reproached him for
his folly in getting himself into such a place. 'Why won't you be
wise? Get out of here and go to Montana.' Reuben asked, 'Does that
offer still stand? Then it is not a medical condition but something
else that is keeping me here!' Some Christians he was on contact
with began to make inquiries, and after 6 weeks his release was
procured. It became a court case. The judge called the doctor and
asked why the man had been certified insane. The doctor
stated, 'Because he heard a voice.' But the Judge, who
happened to be a Christian, quickly countered, 'Didn't the
Apostle Paul hear a voice?' The judge declared the whole thing a
disgrace, and advised Reuben to prosecute everyone involved. 'I
shall never prosecute one,' Reuben answered back, 'But I will do one
thing - I will pray for them.' He crossed the courtroom and offered
his hand to his brother, but he turned his back on him. He then went
to his wife; she did the same. But what a victory he had in his own
soul!"

word calling to her people a holy convocation in that place, the sounds of the
trumpets in heavens were heard and for the new generation to move forward in
their own understanding and to bring themselves in tune into what God is doing
in the present. The Spirit of God spoke to His church through His prophetic
voice exclaiming (asking) to what point would we let Him work in our
lives? To what point would we allow Him to transform us? How far into the
impossible would we go for Him? How far are we willing to follow Him and not
man? 'Enter into the secret place,' said the Lord 'and

doing did wound him often.
Commentary:
Beware of Watchman Nee's The Latent Power of the Soul
where Nee attributes paranormal exploits to the subconscious mind rather than to
evil spirits.
However, he does realize that such activity is demonic.
Beware of the religious philosophy that things such as disease and trouble
are to be endured since Christ also suffered. Much of what we suffer is
the consequence of our wrong choices or from inherited curses.
Christ's suffering was prophesied in the Old Testament to fulfill God's promise
to rescue man. There is a huge divide between suffering/persecution for
believing in Jesus Christ and non religious suffering!
Sometimes pastors/mentors fail to remember and to
remind us that most saints had to cross at least one bridge of suffering to get
to their healing/deliverance/miracle/destiny. Even though Jesus was born
again, baptized in the Holy Spirit, operating in all the gifts and fruit of the
Holy Spirit, He had to be rejected, ridiculed, tormented, shamed, and tortured
unto death, prior to receiving His prize/inheritance/glory/ reward/trump card.
The 12 apostles likewise could operate in all the gifts and fruit of the Holy
Spirit, even raise the dead, yet they too were martyrs. God allowed Job to
be tested through suffering before receiving double for his trouble. Jews
in every generation have been the lightening rod/scapegoat for many of the
world's problems. It seems that they in particular have had to bear a
double cup of suffering on account of Jesus Christ, the Messiah and God's son.
So do NOT be discouraged nor dismayed when suffering lands on your doorstep.
It might be only a fire alarm drill, saying, "This is only a test." God,
not Satan, always has the last laugh.
