HEALING of ugly
HALLUCINATIONS, VISIONS, DREAMS,
and OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCES

First one needs to repent - to ask God for forgiveness
for accepting any psychological experience not from Him,
for not testing the spirits or source, 
for not recognizing the source as being evil,
for disobedience when knowing/suspecting such to be dangerous/evil/forbidden/harmful.
Second, one needs to renounce any and all psychological experiences not from God. 
Third one needs to promise
to test all future psychological experiences (dreams/prophecy/solicitations/temptations)
to flee/reject/refuse/deny as real                (for example, not take illegal drugs)
to seek protection/counseling/AAA
to share with a safe person                        (do not keep issue a secret)
One can pray, "Father God, in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, I ask for Your gift of discernment."

All of our psychiatric experiences are real, insomuch as they agree with our perception.  The problem arises when our experiences contradict the perceptions of others, especially those of witnesses, such as family, doctors, priests.  Most important is when they contradict God's word in scripture.  Psychic experiences outside the permission of the Jewish/Christian church are often para-psychology experiences which can be demonic and may cause one to become infested with demons.  That is a major reason the church forbids activities such as spiritualism and idol worship (the ism religions-Buddhism, Hinduism, etc.).  
Innocent books (Harry Potter),  games (dungeons and dragons), etc. can cause infestation.

One such book Black Elk Speaks by John G Neihardt is a spiritual biography of an American Indian medicine man. It goes into the dealings of Black Elk with spirits.  Black Elk considered these spirits to be holy.  Most medicine men consider spirits to be controlling, demanding, punitive, vindictive and evil.  Scripture clearly says that any spirit who denies or refuses to acknowledge that Jesus came in the flesh is of Satan.  Always ask an apparition, "Did Jesus come in the flesh?"  Inquisitiveness and disobedience got Adam and Eve into trouble.  When in doubt, don't - is a good rule.  Don't believe.  Don't read.  Don't play. There are good spirits (angels) and there are evil spirits (demons).  The human spirit should not be dabbling in anything forbidden in scripture.

SCRIPTURE
Old Testament

EXODUS 33:11 KJV    The Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.

PSALM 71:1 (KJV)    In You, O Lord, do I put my trust.  Let me never be put to confusion.

ISAIAH 5:13    My people will go into exile (be captured by the enemy) for lack of understanding (of scripture that tells us Jesus immediately erases our sins, once we ask Him for forgiveness). (Spiritual insight = We do not need to keep going over and over in our minds our failures/shortcomings.  We do not need to keep beating up ourselves.  In the football game of life we can take the offensive instead of the defensive approach.)

ISAIAH 50:7    The Lord God will help me; therefore I shall not be confounded;  therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

JEREMIAH 33:3 RSV:    "Call to Me and I will answer you."

SCRIPTURE
New Testament

1st JOHN 4:1-3 NIV    Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.  This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God.  Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.  This is the spirit of the antichrist.  (Insight = Both the evil spirit and the Holy Spirit puts thoughts into our minds.  Test every thought.)

EPHESIANS 6:12 NLT    We are NOT fighting against people made of flesh and blood (humans), but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits (demons) in the heavenly realms.

2nd THESSALONIANS 2:9-11 NIV    The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of (deceit) counterfeit miracles, signs, wonders, and every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing (in body, mind and/or spirit).  They perish because they refused (were tricked/deceived/lacked insight)) to love the truth and so be saved.  For this reason God sends them (allows) a powerful delusion, so that they will believe the lie, and so that all, who have NOT believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness, will be condemned.  (Spiritual insight = Remember that Adam and Eve, likewise were deceived by Satan.)

1st PETER 5:8    Be sober.  Be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour.

Chapter 3 The Origin and Nature of Demons  "He declared that 2 demons sat upon him, one on each of his shoulders.  He said they talked to him and also to each other...They were very real to him, for he heard them talking to him continually.  He was constantly vexed, disturbed and agitated by them...He had tried to rebuke them and drive them away, but they would not go...I laid my hands on this man and commanded the devil to call off his evil forces...I instructed the man according to Matthew 12:44 - that in order to remain free when the unclean spirit is gone, a man must see that the demon does not find his house (spirit) empty when he returns. The demon...will not or cannot re-enter one which is full of the Holy Spirit...The man went immediately into the prayer tent to seek God for the infilling (baptism) of the Spirit."
Another woman relates, "A great cloud hovers over me continually.  At times the cloud lifts, then it presses down around me and hovers just over my head.  Voices come out of the cloud.  These voices keep talking to me all the time.  When the cloud lifts and they are farther away, it isn't so bad.  But when the cloud hovers down close, the voices are so loud and tormenting I feel that I can't bear them  My mind becomes oppressed and confused.  I feel that I shall soon go insane."
Another apparition.  "Suddenly there would appear over her a legion of demons carrying a horrible weight which they threatened to drop on her...She would scream out and throw her hands up over her head in a protective motion."  Both women were healed through laying on of hands and deliverance prayer.

Liardon reminds us that visions sent by God do occur, but to further His will and NOT to edify us personally.  He also believes that they occur by God's sovereign design and not by our implementation.  If we initiate a vision, the result may be supernatural, but from the enemy.  A proponent of such demonic spiritual experiences is the New Age movement plus any group that believes in or operates in the spiritual realm, apart from the Trinity (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit).  [A person can have a real spiritual experience (vision/dream/voice/etc).  It can be from God, Satan, drugs, medications, plants, + from the mind that is not working properly.]

Chapter 9 The Edification Process shares one testimony that demons neither understand nor like holy tongues.  The Lord Jesus gave an acquaintance of Dave a gift of discernment. 
"God opened this man's eyes.  He saw 2 demons, 1 sitting on his left shoulder, the other on his right.  Every time the man would make his confession, 'She'll live and not die,' 1 demon would scream through his hear to the other demon, 'She'll die!  She'll die!'  Then the Lord spoke to the man in his spirit, 'Make your confession (She'll live and not die.); then begin to pray in tongues.'...1 of the demons looked around the back of the man's head at the other demon and said, 'What do you think he's saying?'  The other devil said, 'I don't know, but is it burning you the way it's burning me?'  'Yes,' the other demon answered...So they left...The man's sister lived and did not die!"

Wilson mentions that McAll heard and saw Jesus plus treated those with hallucinations by having healing masses, which often cured the patient.  He discusses "eidetic images" common in psychiatric hallucinations and Christian visions.

Commentary

Anything that is tormenting needs to be defeated.
One way to do this is to listen to and memorize scripture on tape, CD, etc. 
Another way is to play hymns continually, especially softly at night, all night long. 
Another way is to get out a Bible and concordance, write down, and consistently speak aloud scripture that address one's issues.  For instance if fear is an immediate issue, then one would write down and continually speak out loud those scriptures that contradict one's fears. It might take 21 days, 40 days, or even years.  The symptoms or oppressions should become less and less and finally fade away.  One's resistance should become bolder and bolder, as the Word of God takes root in one's heart and as one's focus goes off the problem and one self onto the Trinity, our healer and deliverer.
Remember, Satan is a counterfeiter of the work of the Holy Spirit.  Holy angels do good and evil angels do harm.  We encourage and enlist the help of holy angels, but rebuke, refuse, reject evil angels (demons) in the name of Jesus Christ.  Sometimes angels (good or bad) materialize and often do not.  Hallucinations often can be the materialization of demons.  Just shoo them away in Jesus name.  God is always stronger.
